Old Fischer Table

Awhile back, my parents bought a Fischer table and had it in their basement. Then they decided they needed more room down there and took it apart and put it in storage (by storage I mean put some parts in our shop others in our barn). Now we have room in our shop to set it back up. However, we are not quite sure how it is supposed to be set up. We have the frame, sides, and ball return set up, but what we aren't sure about is if there should be a piece of plywood underneath the slate. It's a three piece slate deal. Any input on this issue would be of great help.

Thanks,

You just have unbacked slate (no slate liner) which installs straight to the frame. You should see screw holes in the frame from the slate screws. The cloth would be glued to the slate edges.

Thanks. This helps a lot. Now we just have to find somone to help us move the slate.

2 peeps can carry/move slate 1 piece at a time. If you have a 2-wheel dolly a little easier. I'm guessing you have 3/4" slate so not too heavy. Take your time, be careful of sharp edges and don't stick any fingers in the bolt holes.
