Hey everyone, I was at my local cigar shop the other day that happens to be about a block away from my local poolroom. Many of the cigar shop regulars know I play a good amount of pool. Some customer brought in a framed poster that was taken down from some very old poolroom as I hear it. The guy that works behind the counter asked me if I would like it. I brought it home and took a look. It was professionally framed in a very nice metal frame with a foam backer board and a glass front. It was an old Iwan Simonis poolroom ad about being careful around the table because of the cloth and so forth. It even had a quote from Willie Hoppe in it. I wanted to see the back of the poster, hoping to find a date. Looks like when it was framed, it was attached to the foam backer board and since the poster is in almost perfect condition, I don’t want to take a chance on damaging it to remove it. I’m attaching a photo of the poster, I was hoping someone might recognize it and maybe even know more about when it would have been made. I’ve searched the web for info on it but no luck. I’ve also sent Simonis an email, but haven’t heard anything back. I’ve been told it’s from around WW2, but not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
