Old Keith vs New Keith, what spot would ya need?

There does not seem to be any footage of you in your prime, supposedly you were phenomenal but stories are tricky to figure. You are still a great player but it cannot be denied you must be quite afew steps down from the era when you were one of, if not THE most feared money player in the game on the box.

So my question. If the Keith McCready of today had to play the Keith McCready of old when you were at your best (people say the 70's, when exactly would you say you peaked?) what would you need for a spot from that guy? What kind of matchup would make it even money?

Celtic, to be very honest with you, my game went down when they changed the rules from two-shot/roll-out to one-foul/ball-in-hand. Nobody had those jump cues either. Now when you play a perfect safety, it ain't worth 10 cents on a dollar. If a guy misses the ball straight in, tickees off two balls, and snookers you unintentionally, you have to pay for his mistake.

I still have a lot of passion for the game. I do have my moments, but it seems like you have to be in a little bit of combat to play good pool. I don't play nearly like I used to, and not often enough.

I think I was playing my best pool in the late '70s and early '80s. Back then, I would hit thousands of balls a day, every day, and I never had any problem getting games. When you reach a level of play like I did, it got harder for me to get games. I would have to spot people a lot more weight than they deserved, but I did it anyways for the competition of the game. I dwelled on that competition. That's what kept me going.

As far as me spotting me of that era, I could probably give myself the 7-ball, but that is still good enough to win once in a while. One thing for certain, I still get a little fire in my blood in the right environment. So you never know which Keith might show up. When I am playing good, it doesn't matter who the opponent is because, nine times out of ten, they're going down. ;)
