old le pro tips (black)

wanted old school le pro tips from the 80 s I believe. black instead of brown. any helps? regards

Le pro tips have always looked the same as they do now. You may be thinking of the wb water buffalo tips?

I have 1970's and 80's cues with original lepro tips. (lots of them) they are all brown. I have never seen or heard of a black lepro. Lepro tips were the standard tips used on both Adam and Viking since the beginning I have a couple or 3 laying around from several decades not one single one is black. in my 1980 Adam brochure they are brown and look just like the ones in my 15 year old box of them, but when I try to get a picture they are just dark little dots. I'll work on getting you a good pic.

Subject: Le pro cue tips

Hello,

Can you please help me with an argument regarding your Le pro cue tips. I read online where a gentleman is looking for the “black Le pro tips from the 80’s” I asserted that there is no difference now or ever in the tanning process or look of a le pro cue tip. I have a large collection of 1970” and 1980” pool cues most all of witch came with them installed. They all look exactly the same as they do today. Am I wrong?

Thank you,

Jay Baldwin

Hello Jay
You are absolutely right, no such thing as a black LePro. Was probably some counterfeit thing or someone’s alteration.

Cheers,

Howdy All;

Have a box of Le Pros everyone is Brown. Bought them in Feb. of 1979, so probably made in 1978.

What do you call this?

A box with some tips in it. They have never changed the process by which they made them. If the coating or a piece of leather from which they were stamped was a bit different than another it would not be surprising. If there were some insignificant color variation in a nature made material would it mean that The Tweeten fiber company changed the entire process and not know it? You have a box of tips that are likely LePro tips that are slightly different than most. Cool stuff! but still they never made :Black LePro tips" they made a box or more of darker than usual tips perhaps though, and you appear to have one of them.

black le pros are existing as you see! I also have read in a discussion that they were black long time ago! regards

Yes they were. I have about 4000. of them If they are rare make me an offer on them. I know what they are worth so be realistic. Pay Pal FF. I also have a small heard of unicorns. But they are not for sale. Sorry.
