Old Man Looking For Action

No action yet. I had to play 9 ball yesterday, a race to 9 for $60, just to get EVEN! T-Rex used to let me bet what I want, but of course he was stealing. I played him a worse game than the game Billy beat him at and Billy used to give me 9/7. I can't stand sitting in the chair for too long and will get out of line more than I should. If I don't get played soon, this months S/S check is going to the race track. Ronnie is on his way up from LA and he will help me pick some winners.

Yeah, Ronnie picks 'em real good. Lotsa luck! Just don't bet the farm.

I can't help but think you're being facetious..., but how is RA at h'capping the ponies? Nick the Greek wrote once that it was best to be drunk when betting the horses, so is that the approach y'all use?:D

Don't tell me you ran Roger Estelle out of town beating him at one pocket?! I thought he was a regular customer of yours...;)

All this talk makes me want to move back to California :(.... almost!

At least I can shoot pool and support my habit with the cost of living here ^^

Ronnie & I play almost every trifecta, pick 3 & pick 4 at every track that we are allowed to bet on at the satellite joint. We don't often win, but have a lot of action and a good time. I don't bet the farm. I used to work at Santa Anita Insurance Agency across from the track. We wrote insurance for owners, trainers and jockeys, and I learned early on to take it easy on the horses. I love to bet on them, but will go off more on pool.

Roger & I play from time to time and there is more conversation than good playing. He has me stuck by the way, but I am grinding my way back close to even since he hasn't been playing much. We may play before the tournament Saturday at the Hard Times monthly one pocket.

Whoever shows up earliest gets me for a couple hours before the tournament.

One thing I have learned over the years, betting on pool is much more consistent than fast women and slow horses.

Hope he makes it. Saw him Sunday morning in Santa Cruz at the golf course near my house where I went to hit some golf balls. He had just finished what he said was the best breakfast he ever had. How him and Howard found that course and restaurant is beyond me. I guess he is in San Jose for now on his way to Chico to spend time with his very sick sister. Ronnie does not look well. He is considerably way overweight and obviously stll drinking way too much. I guess his threat to move to Texas was that, just a threat. I didn't ask him for the money he owed me. LOL.\
But then who bothers anymore. lol
