Old school Meucci shaft help ?

I have a customer which plays with one of the really old Meucci cues with the
stock shaft. The shaft has been worn to the unrecognizable where it has a distinct
"bump" where the bridge hand is. In other words - much smaller than the tip in the bridge area.

He has tried modern shafts - but has the "aim - with a ball off" correction/deflection so deep in his brain,
that he find it hard to migrate to a OB1 or a OB2.

Personally, I have never liked the "Mukkis" - never understood putting finnish over
the grip and I was a die hard McDermott user in the old days.

Over in my end I have some problems getting hold of good maple to tapper my
own shafts so I was wondering is there any of you fellas which could help me
out with a "old school Meucci" blank shaft with the original tapper intact ?
A little oversized in the joint section would be preferred so I can adapt it to this old cue.

Since the shaft is so worn out - I can't measure the tapper either and I'm not
sure if I forward the customer to a "new" shaft bought online some where, that
the owner would be happy.

The customer is a top ranked player which has started playing again and is for sure enjoying the return in the game.

I would pay through paypal and I would of course order more than one shaft :-)

Email me, PM me or just reply.

old meucci taper

I've heard mike erwin used to work for meucci back in the glory days. You can do a web search and find his website. Hope this helps.

contact steve lomax, id bet he has a shaft that would match up to your customers cue in a minute, or be able to help you out garaunteed! If its old school meucci steve lomax is the man in know.....PERIOD!

Brianna(LEE) had advertised some Meucci tapered shaft blanks, you could try him.

I was gonna say the same thing. I'll add that Lee is at the U.S. open if I'm not mistaken, so you may have to wait a few days to contact him.

Thank you all for the feedback.
I would do a Google exercise on Steve Lomax and Mike and potentially see
if they are able to help.
If not I'll wait until the US Open is done and drop Lee some words.

The idea was to get blanks with the correct tapper which I could install
and trim to the customers cue on my own.

Thanks
Kent

In meucci web site, I can read......

The Nostalgia Classics

For the first time in 25 years, Bob Meucci is offering, upon request, the same taper, balance, hit and performance of the old “Meucci Original” cues that made the Meucci brand the choice of more than 75% of all tournament players and champions in the late 70’s, through the 80’s and early 90’s.

This technology will now be available on any Meucci cues that are now currently in production for an additional $25 (MSRP). So call now and get the competitive edge for yourself and your clientel.

Hi Andres,

Thanks for the update. I have not looked to much at Meucci but it seems like Bob Meucci is trying to get beck in to the marked again which is good.
I would do a search now as mentioned - have been in the pool hall tonight :-)
