I know you have already made up your mind, but I would also strongly consider allowing Pete to influence your decision based on what and how he likes it. Same goes with ringwork (buzz ring) short vs. full splice, etc. There maybe something in one material or technique that you like that he might think could make the cue play differently. I would give him quite a bit of latitude, but in the end it will be your cue.
