OLD Tim Scruggs Sneaky Pete

The good folks here are telling you what not to do newbie.Get a clue.

Newbie? Ok, "Old Fart", no problems...Oh, sorry..."Seasonal trader" as you put it.
But is not "telling me what not to do" is actually telling me what to do? As one of my favorite guys here would say - "Get a clue"?
On a positive note.

Are we all ready to say - the hell with that stick and just have a drink or something?

Come on! I am not THAT bad, i just have teeth, that is all. But do not we all?

Thank you Mike.
Yes, i am new here. So far, i had many pleasant conversations with guys around here. I did not buy/sell anything here yet but, does it really matter when it comes to a sale?
You are right, he did offer to buy with condition.
I offered more money than seller asked for. As i stated in my post earlier - it is capitalism rules. If you want something - offer more than competition, very simple.
And you are right again by saying that it is up to seller to decide who to sell to.
I wish some people were as reasonable as you are. Instead he is coming with profanity and rude language. Talking about anger management huh?

On the chance that going forward you would like to interact with az members in a friendly and respectful way, here's an example of what an appropriate response might have looked like:

'I would definitely like to be next in line for this cue if things don't work out with the first poster'.

When you see that someone has made a play for the item, you can let the seller know you're interested while giving the person who was before you their space to see if they have a deal. Polite and respectful.

Being 2nd in line and publicly your stating "consider it sold" was bad form.

Publicly stating that you are willing to pay the seller more than his asking price in order to leapfrog the person that is ahead of you in line is NEVER the right thing to do and could very well speak to your character. The latter remains to be seen.

It's up to you now how you wish to proceed here on az.

There are a lot of great people here worth interacting but there is an expectation that other members conduct themselves with appropriate respect.

That said, I'll man up and apologize for responding to your post by calling you an asshole. That was an overreaction on my part for sure.

EDIT: While I was typing this up, I see that there has been a number of posts including some indicating a more moderate stand by kot bigemot. A good sign.

Also, did 9ballking agree with my position on this? Anything is possible! ;-)

Best,
Brian kc

Ok, as we got a rough start here, i will apologize also for showing some teeth here.
But, one thing i would point out. At least i did not go behind your back PMing to seller that i will offer more money. I stated that loud and clear. Letting you AND seller know my offer.
I KNOW there are a lot of great people here. I played pool all my life and know a thing or two about pool players.
In any case, what do you want to do with this stick man? I did not hear anything from seller yet.
Here is why i want this. I used to have one just like this one. It was 17 years ago. Back then i had stop playing. So, i sold many sticks.
Now, i am starting to play a little again. Have few sticks left. Few really nice ones but, ironically, i can not shoot with them - something does not feel right. That is the story.

Easy on the word choice and the nonsense. This is how things get blown out of proportion and the majority get penalized for it. This is a AZBilliards Forum and there are rules to abide by. Just follow them and enjoy what AZBilliards has to offer....End of story

I actually think I woulda PM'ed the seller and let them decide as opposed to comming off the way you did, before you even talked to the seller. This isn't e-bay, seller should be aloud to do what he wants, regardless of first come first serve. Howerver, think you showed bad form here, sir.

Perhaps. I am not gonna argue.
We all went overboard here. So, let's just cool off.
If you guys were local i would offer drinks but.....Hey :ok:

Okay, here's my story:

I like things in multiples of 3.

Doesn't matter what; shoes, socks, jars of pickles, antacid tablets, condoms, beer, whatever. I gotta have 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, etc., etc.

If I can get this ts cue, it would be my 9th and my world would be perfect, once again.

You see, with all due respect, I, too, know a thing or two about pool players. And what I know tells me that I shouldn't yield one inch irrespective of your story.

However, my wholly illogical, superstitious side tells me this stick now has bad juju - or is it mojo. Damn if I can ever keep these two straight.

So, effective 30 seconds ago, I am no longer interested to get this ts sneaky.

And more important than whether or not you end up with this cue, is that you become a good contributor here on az.

Well, time to pull that ace from the sleeve.
I have another member offer me same stick at same price. So, if you want this - it is yours. I am sure it will hit great - after all so much fight for it, it MUST be worth it. So, go for it Brian. No worries.
And thanks for kind words, i will try my best to be good.
I have great reputation on other sites like flea bay and a major tennis equipment trading forum board. If anyone is a tennis player, you guys can check my feedback there, same user name.

Auction closed?

... has the auction closed ? I would like to put in a bid...

multiples of 3

So that would be one wife, one girlfriend and one hooker. Yes your world would be perfect. And you still have time to shoot pool ? Hope it works out good for all parties.

I'm glad things have toned down but you realize you're fighting over a cue offered by someone with one post and no iTrader right? Hopefully you'll get what's offered.

A little update.
I just got off the phone with seller. Sounds like a nice fellow.
He told me that will check the cue tonight to see if it is strait and if it has any nicks/dents. He stated that cue has been in his house for a while and that is one the first sneaky petes Scruggs made. He also promised to post cue specs tonight.
Figured you guys want to know this.
Also, he did mention that i am indeed second inline and if first guy doe not want it, then he will offer it to me.
Also, just FYI - seller mentioned that shaft may be under 12 mm. If that is the case, i will give up my right to buy. I can not play with thin shafts.

I guess your up Kot. Congrats on your new cue.

The cue is still available and here is the specs I could gather.....buyer one is out. The cue is. 474 inches which is over 12 mm. The shaft has a little wobble but the tip and joint end stay on the table.....any more questions feel free to pm me....I don't really check the post. Thanks for looking and sorry to cause such a fuss

final offer on this cue

I still have the cue after all this belly aching. I am reducing the price to 300 since I really need the cash but will not go any lower. If I can't get that for a scruggs cue then I will either keep it or sell it on another site. I got to tell you I am new to this site and did join to try to sell my cue since this is probably the best place to find someone that would appreciate it, but I am surprised at the reaction this thread has gotten.

I hope I didn't cause to much problems. That is not my intentions.

Anyway....FIRST 300 can have it.
