Old Viking Cues.

The styling looks older than mid-70s Vikings, so I'm inclined to agree with you on the vintage. There must be a catalog picture somewhere.
There are pics of both V90 and W90 in the blue book, just fuzzy black/white. I posted the W series catalog pic earlier in this thread.

The font on this cue looks like my 1960s Viking Titlist conversion that was posted earlier as well.

Since some cases were posted, this is a CS-75

Another case. Early 70's Viking Tiger Deluxe. I found it in 1970 and 1972 flyers. It is a high quality 1x2, surprisingly great condition, very similar in construction to Palmer, uses some of the same hardware. At first I thought someone put that lining in it, but it is OEM.

@jayman What do you think? V90 or W90?

I will post better pics when I get the cue. I can only see what I show "Viking C" But the font should tell us something.

I can't find a discussion of how the materials and fonts as well as the words line up with the years. I know we have talked about it.

It looks like the same font as this cue LINK which I think is about 1967?
The logo will be the best way to tell. The Viking Cue Company W Viking Cue Z

Cue arrived.

Window has "Viking Cue" in it.

Brass pin, flat nose.

Bumperless.

Condition is remarkably good, darn near excellent original cue. Can't find a ding anywhere on it. Slight ring popping on butt sleeve, none at joint. Some very light scuffing on the bottom of the butt cap as expected. Finish nearly gone on most of it.

But I thought Z series were bumper cues, this is bumperless.

@jayman

textured leather wrap.
flat nose conical brass pin.
"Viking Cue" in window, fancy font, silver print on textile.
super joint.
dark gray pearl rings.
bumperless.
4 points with wood veneers.
Veneers are natural, green, red, black.
It definitely looks full splice as well.

This is a Z90?

I have been researching the heck out of this V/W/Z identity issue and I have a headache. LOL!

I tried using AI. That was fun. It basically came down to saying I should ask jayman or Chopdoc on AZB. ROTFLMFAO! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Then I told it I am Chopdoc. LOL! Then it's like "It's such an honor to meet you!" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It came up with this:

Finding a true full-splice build with a brass pin Super Joint that explicitly uses this pebble-grain/textile textured logo backing means you are holding an extremely early, transitional Z-series variant (likely a Z90 or Z100) from the exact moment the shop began experimenting with fabric-textured underlays.

Which basically means the AI is saying jayman is right.

I need a F'n drink.... 🤪

There are more variations of bumpers for those older cues than you would believe. It should have one but matching it up may not be easy! If you can measure the width and also the depth as measured from the top of the bolt I will see if I have one. I really like the cue. Great pick up!
I hope it Takes this time "Referring to your post below"

Thank you! You have really spectacular cues, so I consider that high praise.

I will get some measurements later.

It's a pretty shallow space. My guess is that it would have been something like this. But honestly I don't know. I thought it was originally bumperless when I found it.

Working on cleaning this one right now. "Viking Cue" in the window, gold font on black. Deep chalk stains, but no dents. Should clean up really nice.
