I have these blocks of the old yellow micarta that I am cutting up for ferrules. I was just wondering if someone might tell me the best way to cut it for ferules. the blocks are all about 1 1/8 thick although I have cut one that was 3X 3 X 6 The ones I have now are 1 1/8 thick X 3 wide X 6-10 inches long. I want to cut it the best for cuemakers and being a knifemaker I know I would use it different.
Thanks for any help I can get.

not sure if that stuff is stronger or weaker laterally.most guys here use and look for rolled and molded products, but the micarta being paper base may be just as strong in every direction.

check with pdcue on here,he knows alot about the old micarta.

Cut it with the grain, sideways, it buckles.
