Was wondering if anyone could tell me about this Meucci cue. It comes with a red dot shaft. Is there any value? Do the older Meucci play better than the newer? Thanks

I'm not sure of the time line on moochie logos but I always considered that scroll looking font to be one of the newer ones. When I hear old mooch I think this:

Also the older cues were made before they started putting different colored dots on their shaft. The ones I bought in the late 80's early 90's all just had plain shafts. But they came with those long ferrules which gave so much more english. (So the rumors said). The quality on the older cues was much better IMO than what I have seen the last ten years or so.

As to value take half of whatever a new version is going for as a decent place to start IMO. Production cues are brutal when it comes to resale.

The last pic doesn't belong I believe. There's a few of these floating around. Just go to Budget Billiards website budgetcues.com and they have a Meucci archive. It'll fetch roughly around $200-275 on eBay.

That's an HOF-2

Retail new is $535

Great cue, I have one myself that I'll never sell.

Despite popular misconceptions, Meucci cues are NOT production cues. It takes a month to make that particular cue.

Any Meucci made before 1990 has the Meucci Original in block letters on the butt. After 1990 they put Meucci in script on the butt. In my opinion the Meucci cues before 1990 were better quality cues.

Yea this is a hoff had one sold it never been much of a fan some are nice I just don't care for the feel/ hit

Meucci

I own 3 meucci cues a 1987 meucci orginal (PJ)
a O-1 ( Reissue of OL-1) 1990 first year of the scripted meucci name
and a 2006 meucci HOF-1

The 87 original and the O-1 play great

the HOF -1 plays horrible there is a definite decline in quality and feel from the the older two cues

No one loves a Meucci better than me but they ARE PRODUCTION cues.
