I’m thinking it’s from the 80’s. Shafts have short metal collar and matching joint collar. Three points with vinyl veneers.

Forearm inlays influenced by an early 80's Schön S16

Maybe.

Both Schön and Viking had a pawn inlay in the points in 1981.

Same year.

Frankly, I don't think either one of them did it first.

I am pretty sure Huebler did chess inlays before then, in the 70's. Who else? Can't think off the top of my head. Going to bed... Likely others did.

Makes me wonder, who did the first chess theme cue?
