Sent you a PM

This cue is only 57".....not sure if it's a late 50's or early 60's model?

The buttsleeve has a split/crack in it which appears to be stable; it could be filled with glue and
sawdust if deemed necessary.

The pilot on the shaft has a split/crack in it which could be filled with glue and sawdust as well :)

Looks like the shaft on this has a fracture. I have a old shaft made for a Hoppe cue laying around that I am never going to use. I believe it to be straight... I will have to check. Either way... if the buyer wants a free shaft and is willing to cover shipping from NJ they can have it. PM me. Offering first to the buyer of this cue and next to anyone who has a Hoppe cue. - Shaft has been spoken for by the buyer of the cue. Krbsailing please IM me your address so I can send it to you.

Regards,

SS

Much appreciated! I'll get better pics of the shaft joint and buttsleeve later today -- at work now :o

Difficult to tell whether the titlist label is blue or green in those photos because it is unclear. Closed "B" Brunswick with blue label would date the cue from 1945 ~ late 50's. Green label would date the cue sometime in the 60's. I believe it is 1945 ~ late 1950's.

Check out the following URL, great resource for Titlist information.

Thanks for the info and link :)

My wife would tell you it's a green label; however, if you look at Scott's website above this label is much closer in color/shade to what I think of as a BLUE label (a little dirty and discolored from age) on the bottom

The shaft is 28 7/16" and, the butt is 28 7/16"; the butt cap is some type of paper fiber which I've never seen before which peels off like thin pieces of paper!?

Shaft weighs 3.5 oz; butt weighs 16.9 oz; balances out at 17" from the buttend; 13/16" Ivory ferrule ;)

It is light blue, but that has nothing to do with the date of the cue. Hoppe Pro labels are blue, Titlists are green. This cue dates from the late '50s to mid '60s based upon this 3rd series label.

New Price....

Almost brand new 2nd shaft added here by SS!

I'll entertain $500 shipped (CONUS) for the cue and case with both (2) shafts.............it's a very nice playing cue with either shaft ;)

Actually, it is a 4th series label. Look again...there is no hyphen between the Brunswick Balke (ie: Brunswick - Balke) and the "B" in Brunswick (at the top of the label) is closed not only on the bottom...but on the top too! That means this cue was made/labeled after 1960.

Here are the 3 things you look for in the label to date the label.
Series 1 (Pre-1945)- Curly "B" open at the bottom; "Willie Hoppe" is between the o & n in Professional; & Brunswick - Balke is hypenated.
Series 2 (1946-1951)- Curly "B" closed at bottom, open at top; "Willie Hoppe" is between the o & n in Professional; & Brunswick - Balke is hypenated.
Series 3 (1951-1959)- Less curly "B" closed at bottom, open at top; "Willie Hoppe" is between the P & L in Professional; & Brunswick - Balke is hypenated.
Series 4 (1960 -1966)- Block letter "B" closed at top & bottom; "Willie Hoppe" is between the r & a in Professional; & Brunswick Balke is NOT hypenated. This label can also be a light green!
Series 5 & 6 very simply do NOT have "Brunswick Balke" on the label...only Brunswick!
