Oldest Custom Cue

Reading Shorty's thread on the Cuemakers forum about when it's polite (my word) to sell a custom cue made for you, made me think what a fickle bunch of horse (cue) traders we can be. Which brought to mind the question . . .

What is the oldest cue you now own that was custom made for you? Or, even the cue that you are the first owner of? Pictures are encouraged!

I don't have a good picture of my first cue, which is a 1977 McDermott B-1. It ain't straight but still hits 'em ok.

This picture is a 1978 Josswest made for me just before Bill Stroud moved from Tulsa. He found the "buggy whip" leather and had Fellini make a few cases from it, and I was lucky enough to snag one with the cue. And, no, the shafts and butt are not crooked! My cheap camera distorted them. I need Jeff or Zeeder to take my pics. This one may go into the casket with me.

Yep. 27 years ago. Right after dirt was discovered! :o

Mr. White is working on one for me right now, and I got inspiration for the design from a couple of yours. The check for your consulting fee is in the mail! :p

Thanks for the compliments. I'll make sure it gets into someone's hands who will appreciate it after I "go". :D

Yeah, and we know who that is :D ME!

Actually he can have the JW and I'll take the Herceks off your hands. I'd hate to think you would be burdened with the thought of who should receive them.

I'll give you a hint, maybe since you haven't been collecting long enough for a cue to be completed ;-) Hang in there kid, it's fun.
