Olhausen Arizona All Around Tour

Just a quick question to anyone who is in the know:

Is there going to be another Olhausen Arizona/Desert All Around Tour this year? It seems a schedule probably would have hit the presses by now, but one has not.

I heard a rumor from someone that Olhausen may have pulled out as a sponsor. I don't know how reliable this information is though. Does anyone (like Mike H. ;) ) know anything?

This tour has done a lot for pool the past few years in Arizona and it would be nice to see it continue. Thanks for any info.

It has been Mike's baby so to speak, so I would PM Mike or e-mail Mike, and ask if the Olhausen Arizona All Around Tour is going to happen again in 2008.
 
The rumors are true

Olhausen has backed out of sponsoring any tours in 2008. Partly due to this (and partly due to a number of other things), I have decided to not run the tour in 2008.

There are a couple of people who have indicated that they might be interested in running with the tour to some degree. As soon as I know more, I will post something.

That is very unfortunate to hear Olhausen is not sponsoring any more tours this year.

I'm pretty sure everyone who participated in the All-Around over the past 4 years benefited in some way..You made it possible for quite a few players to get their game on for real and see where they stood..Yours was an impossible task and you should be commennded..

Well said, Terry... and I couldn't agree more.

Many people (including myself) really felt like they were a part of something special with this tour in Arizona. And this was largely due to Mike Howerton's tireless efforts in running this tour.

Thank you, Mike... my hat is off to you. My hope is that you can create something like this again in the future, but if we never see anything like this in Arizona again... then thanks for everything you did.

That Stinks for the AZ players.............


Hmmmm, Mj thinks that the Viking Cues Desert 9-Ball Tour sounds pretty good.

Getting a division of my tour in the SW sounds pretty good these days to me.

C'mon Mike H. What can we do?
 
Well maybe some day, or next year the AZ all Around will start up again, it would be nice to get a large corporation behind the All Around like Anheisher-Bush.

Mike, I believe I contacted you about this before in a previous post/PM a few months back.

If you are seriously interested in doing something like this, please PM me. I know quite a few of the pool rooms here in Arizona would love to be a part of something like this. Just need to know the stipulation and requirements to make all of this happen.

If you've already been in contact with Mike H., then he would be the person to talk to. But I am willing to help make this happen in any way and will do anything I can.

Ray, thanks for the input. Here is what you can do. Go play nursemaid to Mike H and make his cold go away... LOL. I talked with him briefly today and he said as soon as he gets better we will discuss it further. Unfortunately, I am running out of time so I need him better now.

I am sure that with the three of us we will find a good way to make it work.

I should have stated my own disclaimer when I said "I would do anything to help".

Edit that statement to read as follows: I will do anything I can to help make this work EXCEPT play nursemaid to Mike Howerton (***shuttering as I type this***).

OK, I am happy you found it humorous to. I just wanted to let you know that I have talked to MH and we will be discussing it.

Mike H needs to man-up and get on the ball will this. He shoul be stronger than to let a little bug bring him down. Heck, I just came back from the DR myself. I'm typing with 1 eye shut because after having a cold for the last week I now have Pink Eye to. And... I'm still workin away.

I do have a little sympathy for Mike H though and I hope he gets better soon. When I talked to him I was in soo much pain that my hair hurt so I know how he feels.
