I couldn't get out of jury duty, and it involved a case where a guy owned 3-4 burger joints, one in a surburban town, and a farm couple bought it to 'retire on'. Well, the original owner 'puffed' up the business, meaning he sent people in to buy while the farm couple was evaluating the business, etc.. The farm couple had spent their life savings on the burger joint.
We decided on a 'shame on you, shame on me' decision, and awarded the farm couple 60% of their original purchase price.
