On the stall...something I've been wondering

If you pop into a joint and play below your speed while trying to make games...all while on the stall......is a beat down expected if you get caught?

Like someone just walking in and saying "shit,I know that guy...he's so and so" and the guy saying it has some credibility with the regulars.

I cant see this happenin often where I play,but my spot is not an "action" spot by any stretch.

I've seen it recently...but it was more a weak hustle out of player "A" (on the stall as well imo) who had been around for a few weeks who was pretty strong.....running at small money stuff.

He mentiones player "B" can "really play" and is on the way.

Player "B" pops in and i reconize him.
Luckily he left as soon as he showed up, all while on his cell,which had me thinking he was making a game on his own and off they go...

It depends on the place and the hustle. However if a "hustler" isn't good enough to disguise his speed in a place that doesn't appreciate it then he deserves what he gets.

There are a lot of players who think that they can come off the stall without getting heat. If you are in a player's room then you can do that as everyone expects you to be stalling anyway. However if you are trying to hustle chumps then they don't like that too much.
 
I know for me hustling, on the lemon, stalling, or anything else you want to call it was the rush I got from it. Just like a shoplifter that does't need to steal, they do it for the rush they get out of it.

As a White Yankee in the 1950's through 1980's there was nothing like going into a biker bar, redneck bar, or all black bar and pull a good hustle and get out alive with the money. I can't explain it but some of those hustles in some of those places were the most dangerous and exieting things that I have ever done in my lifetime. Johnnyt

Its really not something I have considered until recently,because my game is not good enough to stall myself,I'll likely never be at risk lol.

The scenerio I mentioned in post #1 is quite true though.To put it in perspective, player "B" went 1st in a calcutta in a field that was pretty dam strong by anyone's estimation a few monthes before this happened.
He then went on to win the event.

Most likely,actually I'm almost positive,that nobody in the PH would have known him from Adam except for me.

The guy just popped in for a minute like I said and he never picked up a cue,but it got me to wondering....what if he had come to play and found a game?

Glad it didn't happen,but I would have felt bad about saying anything and probably would have felt bad about not saying anything depending on the game made and with whom.
 
I don't condone violence so I won't say any beating is appropriate. However, if you'd like to avoid a beating, you might want to consider not stalling EVER.

I've gotten into some rather heated arguments over players just playing well. It'd be a nightmare if the sudden change in speed were orchestrated.
