The reason people on this forum disagree so much on the man / woman issue is that everyone is not listening. To the people who defend the woman......... Everyone on here knows that any man or woman can beat another in a tournament. They are short races and no one is disputing that anyone can win. So for you to get on this forum and announce " Oh look, a woman just beat a pro in a tournament" is useless.
But, listen up very carefully. Any woman could "career" it and beat tiger woods 18 hole of golf. Does this mean she's as good as tiger? Please!
What we are saying is that anyone can win in a tournament, but, the BEST 500 or so pool players on this planet are ALL male. Don't go by a tournament, play a 7 or 8 ahead 7 days in a row and see what happens. IT WOULD BE 500-0. Yes i'm saying it, pick your best woman and if she played the top men 7 or 8 ahead 7 days in a row she would NEVER win.
That's why a lot of people on here are tired of hearing this issue.
 
Even the best woman could never "career it" and beat Tiger. It would be impossible given that they play the same tees and same coditions. He hits the ball 45 yards further than them and can generate almost twice as much spin. He can also muscle the ball out of the deep stuff, no current woman can do that.

The gaping hole in your logic is that pro pool competion is not based on 7 or 8 ahead for a week straight. It is short races. As for saying it would be 500-0 in your hypothetical format.....that is simply nuts. You dont think Allison or Karen can run 3 play safe and run 4 1 time out of 500? Do you ever actually watch the women play?

No one will convince me there 500 better players on earth than Allison or Karen. That is with the stipulation that play occurs under WPBA tournament conditions (because that is what they play) not some gaffe dirty cloth trick table in your home room. I would be willing to bet that more than a few of the strong gambling players who are a favorite over the women may come up short under the lights and cameras in a short race.

What is it with the absolute statements? You are saying Annika could NEVER EVER beat Tiger? I would doubt even Tiger would make that bet. What, Tiger cant fire a 76 on a bad day? As I recall Annika has shot 59....add 15 strokes for conditions and length....and it is still not plausible?

Don't get me wrong...I am betting on Tiger ....but if the bet is they play 50 times and tiger has to win them all....I bet the other way.

JCIN pro golf is a 4 day event. You may not understand what a huge difference there is in hitting a ball 275 yards and hitting a ball 340 yards. It would be impossible for any woman to keep up with him over 4 days provided that they play from the same tees.

Annika shot a 59 under perfect conditions from the LADIES TEES. That is a HUGE handicap versus playing from 1000+ yards back from there. No more wedges into greens. She would have to hit 4-7 irons in. No one can do that with the same accuracy

I think it's about 100 too. Given that they race to 20 or play 7 ahead.
 
ga young kim played the weekly tournamennt at big dogs and didnt make it out of the 3rd round. I'm a b player and beat her 2out of 3 on a big table I'll let this speak for itself
 
Last I looked Ga Young Kim is not Allison or Karen. Good job with beating her though. It sounds like you are saying male B players are the same as women pros......you are not serious right?

I drew SVB in the first round of the Reno Bar Table 9 Ball last year...he beat me 9-7....then beat some top pros 9-3....so that means I am better than them right?

Along with this I'm willing to up 10K that Allison and or Karen could win this bet for me anyday of the week. I'll take Karen Core also on that bet. You guys are simply crazy to possibly think you could EVER win this bet.

why would any women WANT to play with this mentality? quite frankly, it is hard enough to throw yourself in a tournament or be present in a pool room full of pompass men that want to show you "how" to play much less perform with this type of mentality - although sadly i think this is the norm. do I enjoy watching women's pool, no, not really and i am a woman. I enjoy the aggressiveness of men playing. Do I think there are women out there that have the stamina to grind out matches to win, yes. are there women out there that can pull together racks, yes. I do think overall the play of men is stronger, yes but you are comparing gambling and tournament play - they are two different things (at least in my book).

Except for the tiger woods thing which I dont think a woman under any circumstances could beat Tiger, yeah you have it exactly right. Tap Tap Tap.

He meant that the top 500 male pool players would play against allison or karen. Highly unlikey that ONE match at least wouldn't be won by one of the women, but not not nearly as unlikely as one rack :p

You guys misunderstood, i dont mean the score would be 500-0. I mean if she played the top 500 men for a week she wouldn't finish ahead of any of them.

I don't think that's what he said. He said no woman could beat any of the top 500 men in long races, not that they'd lose 500 straight games.

You are just proving my point! A woman beats a pro in a short race, does that mean she plays like him? Of course not.
 
Those people that think women have a chance are not good pool players..thats the plain truth..

Ask the top 100 male players and they will tell you the truth..A women can't beat good male players over any period of time.. The women play on the softest conditions possible on t.v.. A good shortstop in any major city in america could win a ladies event if he played. Thats the plain truth. Those here disagreeing can't run out so their thoughts don't really matter.Only players know the scoop so all you bangers keep dreaming.

OK, girls... let's pack it up and go home. There's obviously no reason for any of us to be here, since we'd never have a chance in hell at being any good at pool. Apparently bending over and hitting balls is purely a men's sport. Especially since I've learned from this thread that there are 500 men better than any woman! What were we thinking?!?! We might as well hand over our pro tour too... obviously, the men would be more successful at that too. Maybe we'd be more useful as cheerleaders? :eek: :rolleyes:
 
Last time this debate came up someone mentioned that Derek Leonard in Norht Carolina could beat Allison. I just played him tonight and asked him for his opinion on the matter. He said it all depended on what she would spot him. It takes a damn good player to beat that woman.

I like how this has morphed from "There are 500 players better than the top women" to "The top 100 players are better over a long race."

Why did I ever even get into this mess?

You guys just sit around and tell each other how good you are and how bad the best women players in the world are. I am going to do something more productive with my time than argue with keyboard geniuses who know it all and play like god.
