Hey guys i've been reading some of the posts about break cues and i've decided NOT to buy a Predator no matter what. So, I've narrowed it down to a Mezz or some sort of Guylassy. For under $400 which do y'all recommend and what's the difference between an Anvil and let's say a Orange Crush besides the price? Now, if any y'all can recommend something other than the ones mentioned, by all means do so. Thanks!

I wouldn't buy a predator cue or shaft, or take it even if it was free. Are you looking strickly break cue or jump break.

Have you looked at the Mezz Power Break II. It can break down into a jump cue. It is short. Shorter than any other break cue I have seen. I guess this helps generate more speed. My buddy who is 6'5" doesn't like it but just about everyone else like it.

I have a first generation Mezz Break Cue with a White Diamond tip. It breaks great and everyone on the team wants to use it.

break

Mezz Power break II hits like a ton of bricks! You have to get use to it though because its shorter, kinda throws ya off at first. I also break with a Lomax Break cue, I kinda go back and forth, I dont know , if my Lomax dont hit just as hard as the Mezz, or sometimes I think it hits harder. Those are my 2 suggestions. I have a Predator breaker and a OB Breaker and they dont compare at all.

I bought Samara jump/break that has the additional jump handle...and it is awesome! Not to mention a beauty! The weight distribution makes it feel like a feather. The weight is actually 18.2 oz. Superior cues is running a heck of a deal on them also.

If you're just looking for a break cue and not a combination, The Orange Crusher definitely!! I was surprised at how well it breaks the balls. Only the second dedicated break cue I've owned and the first was an early Sledge Hammer.

Check out the sale on www.babysproshop.com coming soon on my Grim Reapers, Anvils and Xtreme shafts. There are only 2 Orange Crushers left through my web site. My FT2 ferrule (unbreakable) and Samsara tip will meet your needs in a break jump and with the sale you will be stealing.

sale on extreme shafts? i have been thinking about getting that earl shaft for my anvil.

No, I already have a great jump cue. I just want a good break cue. I take my break seriously and I want a cue to handle it. The Orange crush sounds promising but I hate and absolutely hate the color. Sorry! Guylassy, what were you talking about when you mentioned the unbreakable and so on and your sale?

my anvil is really great breaking cue, very noticeable pop to it. it really feels comfortable in your hands and bridge, really nice taper on the shaft.

I don't think I can handle the color of the Orange Crusher-so, I think I'll be deciding between the Mezz or the Anvil or possibly an X-breaker if I come across one.

My anvil seems to have the same pop as a BK2, i never tried a mezz so i cant help you there. The orange crush is more of a production cue where as the anvil is more custom cue.
