One of a Kind Early Bill Mcdaniel Cue Stick - Need Help

Hi Everyone!
My father used to live outside of Jackson, TN and knew Bill Mcdaniel back in the early 80's. Bill made him this cue stick at his shop way back then (around 82-84). At the time he wasn't putting a logo or initials on the bottom. Its birds eye maple with 2 shafts along with an ostrich skin case. Would anyone have any idea of the value of it? Also would anyone have any contact info for Bill Mcdaniel?
(I did a google search and looks like he may be retired now and no longer has the shop?)

I believe he did go back later and get a second shaft, but I think it came from Bill also, I'm not sure, will ask him later.

You're right, he did go back later and get a second shaft, said Bill gave it to him, he wasn't familiar with Scruggs.
 
If it is indeed a McDaniel it would be an early box cue by him. There are a few box cue collectors, that would love something like this. Rare example from Bill of this time period. BTW.. looks like a McDaniels to me.

Currently not selling, just would really like to know the value.
We thought that being an early model it could be expensive and likely one of a kind.
My father said he remembers at that time, Bill had different designs and experimenting and such. He said Bill was a little reluctant to sell him this one at first because one of the inlays wasn't perfectly straight and wanted to make hime another (although very hard to tell unless your looking for it) but my dad didn't care at the time and wanted this particular one.
 
Unfortunately the value will not be what you are expecting. Bill made good cues but there are only a few guys that collect his cues, and a few guys that collect this style of cue. If I had to guess, 750-1200 depending upon the buyer. In todays market... who the hell knows...

That's ok, no worries, not really looking to sell. I was hoping for 2000 plus but no big deal. It's a beautiful cue stick
 
Thanks for the interest, but not going to sell it. Worth a lot to my father and I. Would have liked for Bill to see it and put his initials or stamp on it to authenticate it….. and also
to see if he remembers my dad (my dad is Greek with a thick mustache and even thicker accent, hard to forget fellow)
 
Nice cue for sure. Very experimental for sure...never saw one like that before. ..and the case was big time back then too. Your pops must have been a player to have this set up. Don't sell it. You would regret letting such a cool cue, and your dad's dreams and accomplishments go...enjoy it...play with it...like your old man did.
