one of those days

boy does this thread sound familiar; except ive been playing like shit for about 3 monthes now. and its rediculous. i mean Im no world beater but have never been below .500 in any league I've played in since I picked up a cue, im '99... and this past session I was like .222 disgusting, makes it hard to have a positive attitude thats for sure. good luck to all and have a merry christmas and happy 2013

You need to know how to pot all 4000 varieties of shots on the table as a start; you will only be able to do that if someone shows you how to, it took me 30 years to find them on my own even though DR Dave's web site explains it all, mainly because i was thinking oh well i will never master this game, i do not have talent, or i am not gifted, but that all changed when i learned the secrets.

What speed do you play now since your learned all the secrets? Any video?
 
Most of us have been at this a long time, me longer than most. After gambling at pool for almost 60 years, I don't have the answer. Pool, like everything else, is in cycles. One pocket is especially hard to figure out. Some days every shot comes up a little off, the angles look funny and you struggle with everything. The next day every bank is a hanger and you are crystal clear on what to do every shot.

The guy who BBQ'd me last week played a different player yesterday and I drilled him. I don't sweat the bad days as much anymore, I just enjoy the good ones and try to jack the bet.:grin:

exactly, some days it is easy, and other days its impossible. yesterday was the lowest of the low's for me, i only have 30 years of playing time. i never watch matches on youtube but i just watched a 10 ball match and(i wont say who) but a champion missed open balls in 5 racks in a race to 9, i dont feel so alone now.

i'm not sure what happened, i been playing too, played ok in London, played 3 or 4 times since i been back and struggled some, then the wheeles came off last night. I came out the gate ok, no back problems, was in the mood to play, liked the game, everything was rite. I have ZERO excuses, my eyesight was a bit hazy for the first 30 minutes but it came around and i could see.

It was this bad: I had a hanger straight back bank to my hole a free shot, didnt have to worry about the CB, I beat him to the shot and had position. So I could 100% commit to the bank, not play a 2 way shot (you with me Russ:wink:) Ok so thats the shot CB is 3'-4' from the OB which is laying perfect for a straight back under my nut sack bank. its a hanger for me 99% of the time, the rare time i miss this ball its because of Ernsto's pockets, i'm always rite there with it. So last night I missed it by 5 diamonds-I banked it into the diamond ABOVE the side pocket!!! How is it possible to miss that ball by 5 diamonds????:mad::mad::mad: And that wasnt the worst shot of the night. you still with me Russ?!?!?!:grin-square::grin-square:

The Addams Family pinball is the best one ever. I think I asked you about it before at your Vegas house, but can't remember. I had one but sold it a long time ago.

I was on my way to Germany from Mosconi Cup, my uncle died in California-so I had to move my trip germany. I will be there soon for a few months, i'll let you know, or you mite hear about it anyways, i'll be in koln, munchen. for a couple months.

I have languished over this problem many times. It's not tough shots or shots I don't know . I start missing balls 2 feet from the pocket straight in and just trying to stop my cueball.
I have come to the conclusion that it is not mechanics or skill or anything exotic.
I believe it is just FOCUS.
Some days, there is just too much going on in my mind to think about making pool balls, and if I try to play on those days, I always get horrible results.
The few times I have really played well in my life, at the end of the day I was thinking only of pool and enjoying it alone for that time.

Instead of going to Hawaii, could you please just go to that country you were going to that doesn't have pool or internet.

We don't need to hear you talk about your 3 barrel action at $300 a game. You are an awful pool player, and a horrid pinball player, please just stop playing. That's not even a blip on the pool radar, and I thought you said you had gamble.

All you do is act like you'll do something, while everyone else is doing something.

Forget the bad days (there are more of them as you get older) and relish the good days.

When in Munich make a side trip to Garmisch and clear your mind. It's my favorite spot in Germany to relax. Hope to be there in May.

Every 1 knows you can't play a lick. Never could n that u over talk up ur game so its not that shocking what u posted :eek::embarrassed2::boring2:
