Someone brought this after he had it done locally.
Someone at the pool hall does tips install.
The micarta ferrule has the Adidas logo now.
Oh, looks like a fake Kamui Clear as well.
$35 installed he said. Wutta deal.

I'm telling you this because I like you.
It's not good practice to fault or criticize anothers work.
It's viewed upon as elevating yourself in comparison. Don't do it.
It has the potential to resurface at a later date only to haunt you.

I believe the tip IS a Kamui and the ferrule would clean-up with a spin of steel-wool.
What's also apparent is that the tip has been played, it has chalk on it.
You don't really know what's transpired from the time it left the shop until now.

If someone actually did do that install without a lathe, I'd say they did a pretty decent job.
Money well spent.

???
The fact the guy handed over 35 bucks after this work is amazing. It's gouged badly....wI'll cost another 50 to replace ferrule and tip again.

"It's gouged badly...."
Seriously, you see 'gouges' ?
Funny because I don't.
I see 'marks' on a ferrule that would wipe away quickly but no gouges.
Seriously, you see 'gouges' ?
We're looking at the same pic, right ?
Show me gouges !!!

BTW, $35 for a Kamui install is very fair.

Not if you have to sand the ferrule to 11mm to get the corkscrew marks off it!
Whoever put this tip on is a butcher.

Maybe you could provide us with example(s) of your own work ?
Be mindful that the installer of topic allegedly used no lathe.

Maybe the guy that put it on thought it would be cool to make it look like and older OB shaft.
How would someone make those lines by hand? Do you think he chucked it up in a drill?

Ok
Go ahead and knock pops, my 3rd cue...

I put on perfect tips with a razor blade and piece of sandpaper long before I ever had a lathe. Like I said gut is a butcher.

You've made a grand total of 3, count 'em 3 cues, and you have the unmitigated gall to
crack wise to KJ.

FWIW - Joey is a good egg and a long time contributor to this forum - I, personally,
would not have made the comment KJ did. but make no mistake about it,
he has more than earned the right to express his view.

FWIW - the "pops" doesn't really put you in a favorable light.

Dale(not a pop)

You guys are troublemakers.😛
I removed the picture.
I had to sand the ferrule with 600 grit and up to get rid of circular scratches.

Before any confusion gets too much of a head-start, let me offer an explanation.
Joey and I are pals, at least that's always been where my head's been at.
I would never say anything demeaning or derogatory about him.
The advice I was giving him was done in the mindset of one trade-brother to another.
My warning was of the potential. Then, when you least expect it.........

The 'pops' thing gave me a chuckle.
Another fellow CM just up in Michigan was known by "Pops". We played on the same team.
Actually, he was Sey's first choice for a CM instead of me. Imagine that. Lol
Troublemakers huh ? You may be on to something. Lol

Dude I could give a rats ass what anybody who comes at me like the junk yard dog has to say. Pops is as nice as I can be. It's on open forum and I don't need your approval. Thx.

No explanation needed. Those who know, know. It's pretty simple. Pictures are nice but don't really give the entire story.
