One pocket anyone ?

I just moved to Mendocino County from LA where I was a regular at Hard Times in Bellflower. I can't seem to find anyplace up this way with anything but a bar table.... much less something of Gold Crown quality to play on.
Anybody have any suggestions?..... Perhaps a private home where someone would like a friendly guy to practice with?

The room up that way used to be Ichabod's in Eureka but I don't know if they're still open. How far is Santa Rosa from you?

Santa Rosa doesn't really have a pool room with any one pocket players in it. There is a latino room, Los Amigos, with some pool and carom players, but all the other rooms have closed.

Best bet is Universe Billiards in Petaluma, 15 miles south of that. They have a "leisurely" one pocket tourney where players just play whenever they can both find time. Last tourney took over 2 months to finish with about 12 players, lol.

Jim, I'm glad that you are getting some response and hopefully the leads will work out. I know what you are going through as just after I started to learn 1 Hole when I moved to Sun City. The guys at my clubhouse won't play anything but a bastardized 8 Ball. I am now searching out rooms in the Inland Empire. I am at least better off since I do have access to a table but am experiencing the 1 Hole Jones. Addictive.

We didn't know how good we had it at HT.

Really hope you can find something closer than S.F.

Good Luck!

If I was in Mendocino County I wouldn't be playing one pocket, isn't there something else to do or something?

1-Pocket in Mendocino Co.???

Going from Hard Times to Mendocino County??? Yikes!!!

There are definitely no pool rooms nearby, except for Ichibod's in Eureka. You're going to have to find someone with a home table, for sure. Then you better hope they like One-Pocket. This may be a tall order. You may need to do a road trip to SF to get your pool fix.

Good luck.

Edit to add: I remember I was camping out at Hendy Woods State Park in Mendocino County and was itching to hit some balls. I end up in a bar in Philo or Boonville (can't remember which) and it had a pool table. Great, but no one wanted to play, even though there were plenty of folks hanging out! To me, Mendocino County is a place you would go to get away from pool.

Do you own a table,or have room for one? Seems like now is the time to make friends..I know the feeling of longing for a game..I own a table...an its still hard at times.best of luck to you.

Definitly will miss my buds at Hard Times

Thanks for the suggestions guys...If I have to go all the way to Petaluma, I might as well go to Family Billiards or somewhere else in SF. Either way it's about $80 worth
of gas just to get there.Still hoping to find someone with a table at home.

Make the trip to Hard Times in Sac. tomorrow. First of the month 1pk tournament. Most anyone Nor Cal that can play will be there. You might find a hook-up with someone. I know one guy that plays 1pk and lives in the Santa Rosa area that makes the trip, there may be more.
