One Pocket/Banks HOF Dinner

I just wanted to say thanks to all the 1pkt.org and AZforum people who attended the HOF dinner, and express my sincere regrets to all who were unable to come. Maybe next year; try hard to get there, it's a really worthwhile experience. The food's good, the people have fun, and memories and emotions run rampant. When you see an old, grizzled road-dog like Sammy Jones break up in emotion over his pal, Vernon Eliot's election, it's an event you won't soon forget. Special thanks to Steve Booth and Greg Sullivan for thinking it up and putting it on.

Fred, I sure wanted to be there perhaps next year the stars and planets will align and I'll be able to make it. Believe me I was there in spirit. I followed daily updates on AZ and also got to read some play to play of the finals in one pocket and 9 ball from Donovan who I might add is a fervent contributor on onepocket.org as well as AZ. I think we finally found the new Johnson City in Louisville and I'm pumped it's inspirational to see bank and one pocket tournaments with over 400 entries.
Bank on Brother Take care my friend. Philw

Freddy...It was my first HOF dinner, and I thought it was magnificent. You and Grady did a terrific job, as MC's, and I told you both so. There were a lot of free flowing emotions, even from people not directly involved. Glad there were lots of pictures taken. That kind of history cannot be repeated, and it's nice to see it preserved. See you there next year for sure!

I second every thing Freddy said here! I was fortunate enough to sit with Freddy, Danny D, George Michaels and a few other colorful fellow pool players. The stories going around the tables were also very entertaining!

just more hot air!

And we were fortunate enough to have you donate a cue for the raffle to benefit the One Pocket HOF and a couple of the HOF players (mostly 'Bugs') -- for the second year! Thanks again Sherm!!!

My pleasure Steve! Consider it an annual donation. I've always tried to help out pool players. I might mention that 4 of One Pocket/Banks Hall of Fame inductees were player reps of mine. Gary Spaeth, Steve Cook, and Cornbread Red, (til they passed away) and Danny DiLiberto who will probably out last me!

just more hot air!
