It's a little early, but I want you to know we are bringing back the One Pocket Challenge at the 2009 DCC. It was a very successful event in it's first year, and I fully expect it to be again next year.

The people at AZ contributed a great deal to its success, with their generous donations. We raised over $1,000 in total that was added to the purse. I am hoping to surpass that this year.

Any one who would like to make a contribution, please let me know on here. We won't need the money until December. There is a good possibility that the One Pocket Challenge will take place in the AZ Room this year. That won't be determined until Greg finalizes his deal with Caesars.

I will make the first donation:
Jay Helfert $100

P.S. If you make a $100 (or more) donation you will get a free entry into the Challenge. You can designate someone else to shoot for you also. Plus, the first person who can beat Gabe Owen's 60, I will give a $500 Bonus!

Any chance it will be held on the newly deigned Diamond table just for one pocket or will it be on a standard table.

I don't know anything about a newly designed table. I'm happy with the "old" table. Those pockets are there for a reason. :)

Was Gabe's run of 60 taped by any chance? I'd guess we would of seen it by now if it was, but I'd love to see it.

I got into the 40's once and thought I did well- 60 is absolutely incredible.

I WISH! That would be a best seller.
If you got in the 40's, you play damn good. How tight were the pockets? DCC has some pretty tough Diamond tables.

I play ok sometimes but I'm sure I wouldn't break 30 on a tight Diamond ( Can you believe I've still never hit one ball on a Diamond?), especially with real players watching. I have NO illusions about my game. I ran 12,15, 7,4,4 on a relatively loose table but would almost assuredly tighten up ( choke, in other words) at DCC with real players watching.

60 still just blows my mind. Part of me wants to believe Efren would eventually break that run, but I think you're right in believing that number might hold up for years.
