Ok, this is just to let you all know that Power One Pocket is the real deal. I just got my DVD in from Fast Lenny and I couldn't be more impressed. It's like taking Scott's secret shots and having those in your back pocket.

The video is not high quality, but the content makes up for that. It's like a Chris Hightower video in the fact that he is not a video artist but rather good at what he does, and has that genuine presence on the camera so that makes the video enjoyable to the viewer.

I think for what it's worth, Lenny deserves to get credit for his efforts as I know he was probably behind the camera and most likely followed through on the production side of it as well.

Scott is the ultimate pool player in terms of pure confidence and hustle. He is a bonafide badass and is currently my favorite player and even more so after watching this DVD.

After watching the shots on this DVD, I went back and watched the Gabe Owen vs. Scott Frost Galveston match and I noticed many of the shots that Scott played. Now that I have this knowledge, things are coming to me that I couldn't figure out before. There have been many a mistake made by me at the table and now that I look back, I was too blind to see what I was doing. This DVD helped me to have 20/20 hindsight with X-Ray Vision and then some. Now, all I gotta do is study, apply, and destroy with a new level of confidence thanks to this production. I don't know if anyone else besides the 'Freezer' is qualified to produce a title such as 'Power One Pocket'.

There are lots of great stories at the end of the DVD and all-in-all, it was tastefully done. Simple and to-the-point. I listed a review in the cue review section, but wanted this to be here in the Main Forum for everyone to see because if you play one pocket, 8,9, 10 or 14.1 you will absolutely be missing out if you don't watch this video.

I'm gonna practice all these shots, master them and then, I'm gonna come to Kolby's and challenge the Freezer for some big cheese! (at least that's how I feel after watching this DVD) maybe I'll just stay here in Tulsa and challenge Gabe instead, but don't tell him!

Thanks for kind words. I learned a great deal doing this project and if I do another it will be even better. I know the content in this DVD is great. The production could have been better, I was not the camera man but I know that the lighting hurt us a bit. We wanted the dark pool room feel and the clarity suffered some because of it, if we do another it will be in a home pool room like most of them are so it will be crystal clear. Also we will use an HD camera instead of the older prosumer cameras which are okay but the new HDs are better for sure. I think doing it in a home room is a bit cheesy but doing it in a poolroom is a pain in the butt, we were only able to shoot from 3am-5am which was brutal, the lighting was too dark, the hum from the bar was not so great either but it was a lesson learned.

I think the content is great so it makes up for the okay video/sound, if your buying it for a Hollywood production its not for you, but if your looking to become a better one pocket player then this is for you. You will learn a ton of shots and improve your game and also go back to it as your game evolves. Thanks for the kind words and reviews, really makes me feel good.

I agree... I am far from a decent one pocket player.

I learned alot from this DVD.

Thanks!

Thanks and that was our goal, improve players and make sure that regardless of your ability level you can learn from it. I also feel we did something original with its own flavor that brings new things to the table for players, this is not the same ol'-same ol' dry boring one pocket DVD.

Personally i liked the dark, not 100% perfect production pool room aspect of the DVD. It made it feel real, not like an over-produced pile that most DVD's are.

I am happy i own it and am learning from it :)

Thanks bud, glad you liked it. The true test of success for this DVD is not how many we sell but if people out there are learning. I do hope it does well sales wise of course and Derby will show us if the people are receptive to it.

Nice!

I was really torn as to which DvD to buy, times are kinda tough and I wanted to get one that would be really informative and simple to understand. I've been on a One Pocket kick lately and I can't wait to order this!

This has ton of new stuff in it, it does help beginning players but even advanced one pocket players can many some gems in it.

Thanks for the review. I'm getting a copy at the DCC for sure, can't wait. As far as the Galveston reference I've never seen two powerhouses miss so many balls, that hurt to watch.

on the quality note, i havent seen this DVD, but i noted the same issue in joe tuckers great videos. what i want to say to these (or you) guys.... GET A GOOD MIC and plug it into the video recorder.... maybe even a boom. the benefits far out weight the costs! or you could rent too! this makes the video feel loads more professional. maybe you dont care, but you should. i agree with the notes on only the practical aspects of pool instruction videos need to be good, but we DO need to hear the speaker well. just some friendly advice :)

The audio you can hear very well as we used a shotgun mic, I just thought the clarity of the video could have been better but it was a dark room. I learned a good deal from this and if I do another one I will make sure to make it better and not make the same mistakes.
