Not a chance, But then none of us do anyway. WE'RE ALL DOOMED!
So let's party like it's Ummm......2016?
Hookers and Tequila not related to One Pocket? My. oh, my. You've got a lot to learn.
I consider myself an A player, but with health considerations being what they are, who knows.
I never paid for a lesson in my life. I've given a few, back in the day, to new players. Basic stuff. I gave a lesson once to a Chinese couple (elderly) who had recently bought a table for their home. Neither had ever picked up a pool cue, but their daughter was bringing her fiance and his parents over and they wanted at least a rudimentary understanding on making a ball go into a pocket.
By the end of an hour I had them both making one and a half foot shots into a corner pocket about fifty-percent of the time. They were tickled pink and forked over thirty bucks. Family rate, you know.
To me, and I know Dick and Lou feel the same way, One Pocket is the best game in town, bar none. It contains all the elements that make it great. It's challenging. There's drama galore. It's definitely entertaining. And, it's just fun to do.
Although I personally don't gamble, it's the best there is for gaming.
So, because of that, and other considerations, I tend to be a bit protective of the game, and I think a statue should be erected in Enid, Oklahoma, to honor the guy who invented it. (Maybe they already have.)
Anyway, 'nuff said.![]()
Thank you. I appreciate your candor, and I also appreciate what you, Dick, and many others have done for One Pocket. Great ambassadors.

Thank You SJD, I do understand and appreciate your sense of humor.
I think it would be a great benefit to all in the pool community if you did write that book. At least you should grab yourself a digital audio recorder and spill out what memories you do have about your exploits. Even if these memories never get published at least they will be there for your family to enjoy. I know I would have loved to have had some form of autobiographical record of my father's life.
No, Dick, he was a product of the depression and held a very hard stance against my playing pool. The pool hall stigma was alive and well within my Dad. As a result, I was somewhat a "black sheep" family member. I was not alone in that club though. lol.
We all have our skeletons Dick. I wish to express my sadness for the loss of your young wife. The pain stemming from a loss due to senseless accidents such as the one you have suffered can never fully be resolved.
Tom
Thank you Tom, I knew you would understand..Paula and I were recently divorced at the time!..And not to make it all about me, and my misgivings, but my 2nd youngest son, Steve, was somewhat indirectly responsible for her early demise..As kids will do, he ignored her plea for help with a very simple task!
And of all my kids, he was the only one who then turned to drugs, and has since wasted his life over it! ..Another tough cross to bare!..If I had only been there, (where I should have been) she would probably still be alive today! ..Being a full time road hustler, can certainly bring about a lot of regrets, can't it?
P..Thanks to you, and everyone, for allowing me to vent my frustrations! (sorry for the hijack)
Surely Tom, you know me well enough to know everything I say, is always loaded with sarcasm!..I admire your skill at putting your words into an easily understandable context..A few people have been wanting me to write down my thoughts and memories, of my 65 years in the racket, while I'm still above ground!
First of all, my memory is broken!..I can't even remember what I had for breakfast, let alone recall with any degree of accuracy, what happened 50-60 years ago!..However, most pool authors have never let 'accuracy' get in the way of their recollections....Besides, I can't even remember what I had for breakfast!
