This was a nice read Robin, I love reading some of the things about the old days ( Just some ). Here is a correction though according to John Henry who was Chicago Bugs road partner.
Recap of some of the Jansco Brothers contributions to pool in America:
5.The first racially integrated major pool tournament 1962
John Henery: I know in 1963 when Kennedy got killed and they passed the Civil Rights Bill where anybody could play anywhere, I remember we were down there and tried to play. The Jansco Brothers got a hat and went around to all the players and they had to decide, do you want them to play. It wound up more votes for no than yes. And we didn’t get to play in 1964. We didn’t get to play in 1964, 1965, 1966 and then in 1967 they finally let a black guy play. They let Cicero play. And Cicero played Irving Crane in the finals and wound up winning.
