One-pocket rule nitpicking

I read the following rule here:

"Players may use jump shots in One Pocket as long as they are performed with the player's own standard playing cue using legal jumping techniques as defined in General Rules. Specialized jump cues are not permitted in One Pocket."

So does unscrewing and playing only with the shaft constitute using a "specialized jump cue?" Or is it playing with the standard playing cue?

It is my understanding that unscrewing your cue and playing a shot with only the shaft is always illegal in all pocket billiards games.

This is why there is a minimum length for jump cues.(which are not allowed in one pocket as stated in the rules you cite)

shots like this being allowed would affect the game in a very negative way. (this can only be executed with a shaft)---->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp-bGtpLakM&feature=PlayList&p=AF3C7C5CB12E51CC&index=3

Technically, I believe unscrewing would constitute a forfeit....

Regardless, the rule means jumping only with the same cue and shaft you are playing with.....ie, jump shafts are not allowed.....

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong here....

Go ahead

You can shaft-jump playing 1-hole with me.
But you gotta keep using it....no ifs, ands or buts.

question does not compute? What is your major malfunction private....NO JUMP CUES, NO SHAFT JUMPING

The rules can be different for gambling then for tournament 1 pocket.

When gambling make sure you and your opponent agree on certain rules.

Duh, I forgot the minimum cue length rule. That certainly answers my question, thanks.

Oh don't worry, I was asking out of curiosity. I don't like jumping balls very much anyway; It's not "elegant" billiard. Besides I probably haven't played more than 10 games of one pocket in my life, mainly because I can't find anybody to play with...

kriss kross?? That's a name I haven't heard in a while. You're showing your age man :)
