One Pocket Rules Question

I need help with a Rule, say I have pocket ?A?, the guy I playing has Pocket ?B?.

I have 4 balls (Points), the guy I am play has 7 balls (Points), and it is my shot.

There is a Ball by the other guys pocket, (Pocket ?B?), and as I said it is my shot.

If I sink that Ball in Pocket Ball, and the Cue Ball (scratching) is the GAME OVER because the other guy has 8 Balls, or is it still 4/7, and the sunk ball is spotted, and my opponent has ball in hand in the kitchen.?

If you make his ball in his pocket, and scratch, or jump the cue ball off the table, his ball is spotted up, and one of yours, and he shoots from the kitchen.

I just recently took up this game, but the guy that is teaching me has shown me this shot as a valid desperation move. The ball spots up and your opponent has bih behind the line.

I hope this is correct, otherwise I'm going to lose a bit of respect for my teacher

+1

However, note that if you pocket a ball for him in the course of a foul WHERE THE CB DOES NOT LEAVE THE TABLE than it will still count for him.

Basic One Pocket. In the original post, if you shoot a ball in his pocket and scratch, that ball comes up and you lose one ball, making the score 7-3 with him shooting from the kitchen with two balls on the spot. And, I assume, three more balls somewhere on the table. With the score 7-3 there would be a total of five balls on the table for your opponent to shoot at.

The game ball you made is spotted, plus you spot another ball from your pocket, making the game 3/7. Your opponent has ball in hand in the kitchen and can play safe or pocket the game ball.
