One Pocket Shots

Grady is shooting the "Jeresy Red" Terrible Take-out

Grady's shot:

the shot is "Jersey Red's" terrible takeout
shot down the long rail instead of across the short rail...


The first time I saw it, I was the "VIC-TUM" of it

the shot is hit the exact same way down the long rail or across the short rail,
the cue ball//object ball and pocket all must be in-line (or almost)
no left or right, only force follow or drag to get the cue ball to stay in the correct place.

"Bugs" Rucker had another variation of this shot, but it was never captured on film//camera, again the first time I saw it, I was the "VIC-TUM" of it...
"Bugs" shot used some throw to achieve the same shot from further off the shot track.
 
I am going to guess that everyone went to their table to see if they could make it, I know I did, but it is not apple for apple as I only have a 4x8 but tried none the less and shot it with a little low left and made the shot with out a kiss.

I played Rafael the US One Pocket Open a few years back. He trotted in the whole Mexican National Circus and did everything but have elephants walk through the room, lol.

heck I will give it to them 5 times in a row to shoot it down the long rail...

Jersey would shot this shot across the short rail so often that we called it the
"Jersey Red" Terrible Take-out

you thought because the balls were lined up with your hole that anything he would do would be a double kiss.....and it was; on to his side or worse into his hole.

shot across the short rail the cue ball is sent to the long rail to come back for the second kiss
shot down the long rail the cue ball is sent to the short rail to come back for the second kiss...

in Chi-town Bugs knew the equipment so well that he would use throw to get the object ball back for the double kiss...

in the end
"Book Collector" is correct.

what a great thread. some of these shots are a bit too spectacular for my implementation though. i'm still experimenting with variations of the bank-carom of the stack (under the stack). gifs / videos of this would be highly appreciated..
