One rail kick/bank...looks easy?

I find this simple triangulation works well for most kicks/banks. Personally I use an adjusted version that doesn't require building or visualizing 2 lines and then crossing them, I mentioned it in my articles that have been referenced before.

As Patrick said, technically to the rail track is the most accurate, but I just put my tip under the cushion to keep it in place when measuring with my stick. And once the contact point is found, assuming kicking, on the equipment I play on I will aim through the diamond at that point if shooting very slowly or medium speed with running english, and at the nose of the cushion if using a medium speed center ball kick. And of course you'll have to make minor adjustments based on equipment, closeness to the rail, and for angles at either end of the spectrum.
