Vincent said he could get into West Point playing video games, everything is coming down to video game reflexes.

It took longer than he said, but E sports players make more than pool players.

eSports Players in the MLG were making mid to low-six figures a year in winnings and sponsorship deals way back in 2014.

I'm pretty sure they have been out-earning pool players for a while now.

I think that's going to disappear shortly. Even fast human reflexes are not going to be as fast as AI-assisted reflexes.

I think DAZN had some e-sports but nothing listed now.

I didn't even know this was a thing so I looked it up. Pretty interesting..

I was going to say something similar. Damn humans are inferior, why do we need them? Destroy. Destroy. Destroy.

P.S. I am not a robot.

The pool list is incredible inaccurate. First that list is not every tournament. Second it does not count gambiling winnings. Most of these guys make more in cash games then tournament games. It's not including sponorship etc.

All the sports and games I know of do not include sponsorships and gambling in their money rankings.. Also, most only use winnings from accredited tournaments. Why would pool be any different?

Youre missing a lot of guys that crush these numbers playing video games...

Shroud makes around 200k a month on his own and earned over 400k in tournaments playing CSGO
Scump has earned 1.2 million and made I think 275k last COD Tournament season and around 12k a month on his own

There are a ton more guys making well over 6 figures a year playing games and its been that way for a little while now its a good biz to be in

Had a former student who was sponsored by a computer mouse company....he made 2500 a month for livestreaming his team playing csgo a certain number of hours each month. They would play tourneys with 6 figure prizes a few times a year. Kid was 14 years old.

I disagree. There is a lot more to being a good officer and leader of people, than having video game reflexes.
Yeah, I think everybody here missed the punchline in that quote. It's not that he could make money playing video/arcade games, but that the skill would get him into West Point and a lucrative military career. (Not sure about the lucrative part, though!)

Well, if you are going to include gambling winnings, you gotta include gambling losses, oh wait it's mostly the stakehorse who loses.

Did you know that the Army specifically created a video game to recruit soldiers, and it is popular.
Air Force routinely looks for drone pilots from SIM games.

That is called a recruiting tool. Technology absolutely is a huge part of today's military. But the ability of someone to rack up high scores in that game is not the point.....It is about getting people interested in joining the Army, and becoming real soldiers.

I don't know where the Air Force actually recruits from, but if someone is going to be a drone pilot, they first have to earn a bachelors degree, and become a commissioned officer. Also, the Air Force web site specifically states: "In addition, RPA Pilots are officers in the U.S. Air Force responsible for guiding others and leading by example."

I was a commissioned officer in the Navy, and Naval Aviator for 9 years. Being a commissioned officer, or being enlisted, in any of our Armed Forces is about much more than being able to play video games. It's about people who understand leadership, dedication, and team work.

The military will teach those people all the technology they need, to accomplish their specific job.

Possibly, the military has changed since the mid-60s, but back then when I was an enlisted man, I could have been easily convinced that an official part of officer training was intentionally turning naturally nice guys into pricks.
