Most of those sites were from different countries, like Nigeria, and Germany.

I wonder if this method is being used to circumvent the restrictions on banking. After all, the bank is only funding e-gold. What you do with that e-gold is a different matter.

Haha, you are too cute! The site I used was the Wells Fargo branch and it cost me $2.86 to get $60 worth of egold. The company is based in the US. They actually called me today because there was a mixup in which account they needed to deposit it to.

So I just checked it. I bought $60 worth of egold because it cost me $59.95 for the website purchase. I tried putting my egold payment through and it wouldn't go through. So I checked my balance and it is $59.51. ARRRRGGGHHH!!!!! Where did the other 49 cents go???

Tomorrow, more phone calls and another visit to Wells Fargo. Damn, I just wanted my stupid website up and paid for.
