I've been looking for a case besides instroke,It's either going to be between a Dan Whitten or a OnQcase. My question is has anybody ever used one of these cases?Check out their website at www.onqcases.com and tell me what you think. :D

I met the OnQCase guys at the BCA. They showed me a case they built for Ralf Souquet. I was impressed with their workmanship. I would buy one. As for the Whitten, you are always in good hands with one of those.

My personal preference would be the quality and clean lines of the Dan
Whitten.
I checked out the OnQcase and it's a bit to gaudy for my taste, but not as
gaudy as an instroke, I would not carry one of these if it was given to me.
I may me in the minority but I just do not like decorated and dressed up
billiard equipment. I spare no expense on my cues and cases. but none
of my cues have or ever will have an inlay of any kind. gaudy!!!!
But this is just me! Dan Whitten, perfect!!

I have an OnQ case, and I like it a lot. Their newer work is even nicer than what I have, from what I've seen.

I agree with you about the gaudy type cases.I am looking for something sleek and contempary. That's the first thing you notice about a Whitten case,it is very clean. The cases I looked at on OnQcases website did not seem that gaudy.Anyway,Thanks for the replies

I saw their website a long time ago and really liked the style of the cases, very different. The one thing that i didnt like was that they show no confirguration of the interior as far as the way they are arranged and the types of materials used. They dont disclose what type of protection they offer.

The cues are well protected on the inside. From what I've seen of other cases, the interior is similar in design to an Instroke, or Justis, or any of those style cases. Now, before anyone jumps on me, I understand that quality varies between a Justis, OnQ, Instroke, Etc., but I'm talking about the "style" of the interior, not the actual construction.

I looked at one last night. The OnQCase is a lot larger than the Instroke. The tubes appear to be larger in diameter and the fabric liner is a lot thicker which makes the whole case bulkier. Much larger than a comparable sized Whitten. Their is a huge style difference between the Whitten and the OnQCase. The Whitten is sleek and elegant and the OnQCase is bulkier with contrasting lines. I like the way the pockets emulate the shape of the case on the OnQCase but I did not care for the difficulty in getting in and out of the pockets.

I would definitely say that if you are unsure and have not seen an OnQCase in person then I would hesitate to reccomend buying one sight unseen. On the other hand they have a 7 day money back guarantee so you might want to take advantage of that. I like the cases, there are things I would have done differently but then again I am a little bit more critical than the average person when it comes to cue cases :-))

Shoot well,

John

My OnQ Cases

http://www.wpba.com/cms/?pid=1003701

I ordered 2 cases from OnQ, a 2x4 and a 1x2.
The 1x2 just arrived and I am very satisfied with it as much as I was the 2x4
that have many python inlays. Some will say goddy and some won't. It's a personal preference I guess.
I do have to agree that the smaller pouch is a little tight for a hand towel
but it is designed to store smaller items like tip tools, keys, cell phones etc. and I had little difficulty removing any of these items. Anything bigger goes into the larger pouch and there were no problems there. I do however like the fact that when the pouches are empty they don't look empty and are ready to store items without having to remove any foam beforehand.
The pouches are made with several layers of double stitched leather making for a more rigid pouch that won't collapse when empty.
Attention to all stress points on the case were carefully thought out and addressed preventing failure. I see both OnQ cases as being attractive functional cue protection that will stand the test of time and also some unintended abuse. I do like the fact that I am the only one in my area that has an OnQ case, at least for now. I'm sure that will change though before too long.
Here is link to some pictures of both my OnQcases.

Thanks for the info.I think that I am going to go ahead and order one of those 2x3s.I have never saw an OnQcase from where I am from and that was one of the reasons that I wanted one.

My OnQCases

I just got my new OnQCase yesterday. It is absolutely MUCH, MUCH more then I ever dreamed it would be. I swear to God, Blair must have read my mind as he delivered exactly what I had in my head! I too priced Whitten, Justis and I'l tell you straight up - HURRY and buy an OnQ before Blair realizes just how low priced he is compared to the others.

I got a 3X6, I requested a soft black (Not shiny) asked him to please tone it down as I prefer simple elegance instead of gaudy. I also asked him to engrave my Last Name on front case cover and add White leather diamonds (1 on each pocket).

The case is absolutely PERFECT in every way. I'll try to post some pics this week if I get the time.

I for one will NEVER carry anything but an OnQCase !!! :D :D :D :D :D
