a friend brings one of his buddies from out of town to meet me and do some repairs, tips, etc. on a batch of cues he picked up
here's one of them
when i took the bumper off to put it in the lathe this happened
what ya think of this buttcap installation method ?
any idea who the maker is?
sorry, we didnt get pics of the joint
it was brass, 5/16x14 piloted

I believe it's an early Schmelke.

That is my guess as well.

My buddy has a brunswick from the 60's. And his butt cap is identical to that one

I believe that Schmelke was one of the companies who produced cues for Brunswick in the 60's.

Schmelke told me they did not make the Brunswicks, but someone copied their joint and made them for Brunswick. That cue looks alot like an old Florida Cue.
