Which do you feel is better to use as you primary way of shooting? I personally find myself going back and fourth, it really doesn't seem to mess with me because I've been doing it for so long.
I use both bridges depending on the shot, but my primary bridge is the closed bridge......

closed off

I voted closed. Just 'cause I use closed more. But, I use open more and more - 'cause I recognize now that my sighting is better that way, cause of AZ. But I also use the ' more, and the "ahhh, ain't that cute" more.

Doesn't mean I'm in a bah hum bug just cause I didn't read all posts on this spool.

Happy "this."

(did a write in vote for me and got zipp)

I don't think an open bridge is restrictive in any way, except maybe for the break in 9 ball where more body movement comes into it.

Not even then. I use an open bridge for hard breaks. The only real potential disadvantage to open bridges is the shaft jumps up for some hard shots, but that's a psychological problem.

You can do anything with an open bridge you can do with a closed one - even extreme masse.

I needed a bridge badly, when a very nice New Yawker stepped up and sold me the Brooklyn Bridge for only $800. VIOLA !

(he wrote me a receipt on a bar napkin.............done deal) imo

Happy Memorial Day Smorg.

Open bridge for sure ... I don't understand why people say certain shots call for closed bridges. Being able to hit most any shot with an open bridge says a lot of good things about where you are with you stroke and form IMO. It's obviously cliche but look at snooker players and what they can do with the white all while making nearly everything straight into the hole.

I also use both, depending on whatever feels most comfortable for each shot. The bridge is something I'm very comfortable with no matter which I use, and it's something that never even crosses my mind when I play.

looked like a closed bridge to me, if you meant the power draw ?

I agree it looks deceiving hard to tell for sure but 1 seeing as how its snooker that probably means its an open bridge and 2 notice how quickly the cue comes up after the shot. Seems to lean towards an open bridge.
