Do you use a open or closed bridge? I started to use a open bridge and found it to be more beneficial. To me it seems to give more feedback on being on stroke and aiming. Using a closed bridge it seems as if I can get away with a stroke that is not in line whereas with a open bridge I can tell that the stroke is not on. This helps me with straight in shot and rail shots. Something else that I found was that if I pause at the backstoke and then just let my arm relax I get a better stroke and CB speed. I do not have any muscle involved and can get a ton of english if that is what I apply. The Cb seems to respond better and I am not forcing the ball. Just something to think about and would like some other input.

Thanks

Sorry about the double post. Must of happened trying to set up the poll option

I use both. One some shots, an open bridge is the right one to use, on others, a closed bridge. Use the right bridge for the shot at hand.

I use an open bridge, Hoppe Bridge (closed w/finger curled in) Closed Bridge, Stacked, Finger Tip (palm off table) Fist Bridge in no certain order.
Some sort of closed bridge is what I prefer.

You're right, different bridges do different things. That's why I use a variety depending on what I need to do. The open bridge IMO is only used when you have to stretch across the table and can't form a closed bridge. Like I said it's my opinion. You have one too. If you think you play better with an open bridge then you may be right. Some of the great snooker players used an open bridge. I aint as good as them boys at hitting a cue.

i use and open bridge on longer shots ...especially if i have to strech out...buy for the short precision shots a closed bridge is best ...for me anyway....also and open bridge loosens you up.
