Yes, this year at Derby City there will be an Open Ring Ten Ball Game that will run every night from Midnite to 8 AM. It will be played on the television table in the main arena with spectator seating. This should prove to be a very popular addition to the circus that is Derby City.

This is the brain child of Greg Sullivan and Jay Helfert, who both remember the great Ring Games from the old days and want to rekindle that spirit here. It is in games like this where the best pool is traditionally played.

The Ring Game will be limited to a maximum of five players at any one time. Additional players will have to go on a waiting list to get in. The price is $100 a man, and a player must post $100 to get in and show an additional five barrels minimum. So in a five handed game, the winner will collect $400 each game. It is possible for someone to beat this game for several thousand dollars in one night.

Derby City is from January 5-13, 2007 and the Ring Game will go from the 5th thru the 12th every night. It is an Open Game and no one is barred! We encourage all you backers to find a horse and jump in. In fact we are taking reservations now for this game, as we're certain it will be full from the first night on. If you want to put a player in this game, contact me via PM now, to hold a spot. When we have five players confirmed, I will announce their names here.

After this, we will take reservations for the waiting list. There is no question players will bust out, and new players will join the game. I fully expect to see dozens of players try this game over the course of Derby City. But to get in, you must reserve a spot. The board may be very long by January. Who knows, you could be the next Purdman.

Good luck, let's have some fun and see some great pool.

Just want to add that this game will be in honor of Denny Searcy, the greatest Ring game player ever.
