I see all of the postings for various events, both professional and open / amature in various parts of the contry, and am wondering, being somewhat new to the Pool Scene, are there any of these events in the Texas / Dallas area?

Not really talking about the 10-20 man tournaments at your local pool hall / bar, but the more large scale events.

How large? Rusty's in Fort Worth has a bar box tournament twice a year that generally gets anywhere from 30-50 players. Those are generally the largest I've seen... unless you count the Ultimate 10-ball tournament held in Frisco a few years back.

Unfortunately, it seems like Houston and Austin generally get most of the Fast Eddie's, Tiger Tour, Lone Star Tour, etc. tournaments.

If you are a female player, several OB Cue Tour stops are in the DFW area each year.

well, the Rusty's thing might be worth checking out. Is it a straight up tournament or is there a ranking process? Where would you get info on these. On their site I'm guessing.

As far as the womens or other tournaments go, I'd love to make a weekend out of it and go to Austin and see some professional play. Wouldnt mind watching the womens if they came to DFW.

I'm just reading about all these other events on AZ, most seem to be in the north and east coast's, and dont here of any events in this neck of the woods. Convensions, tournaments, whatever!

The Rusty's tournament doesn't have a ranking system. It's a good tournament though. For bigger tournaments, I think you'd really have to hit the Houston/Austin area. They used to have some good sized tournaments in Denton and Waco, but they've pretty much died off.

Luke's in Sherman has a Saturday 9-ball handicap (3-7 ranking) tournament starting at 3pm that draws about 25-35 players every week end! This is a tuff tournament to win.

I run the Tiger Tour, its around Houston area only. We run 1 a month and average around 80 players. It was amateur last year, now its open to all, but its handicapped by games

1st is usually around 900/1000 in tourney, and auction varies, id say around 2500 avg. For 1st in auction
