Opinion in making a table like GC?

Hello community,

I have been looking an used GC or Diamond Pro-Am tables for a while with no success. I have compared several options with other brands but I don't think that I've felt that connection with other tables (you know what I mean). However, I found a table that has 20+ years and the table looks very similar to a GC but no Brunswick labels were found. I'm not a mechanic or pool table expert but the table looks good and well kept (see pictures). The old man said that played only two years in all their 20 years of own it. Based on the condition this could be true.

Does anyone know about this type of table? Fake GC?

I don't know if this is a ridiculous thought but If I buy this table and replace the cushions and add a new Simonis cloth, do you guys think that could be a nice table? Adding all the costs including the table I should be around $1200.

Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks

Table

If you don't see a brunswick decal anywhere on the table.... It's not a brunswick...
Many manufactures try to copy the GoldCrown and fail...

A GC plays the way it does because of many reasons in which many tables lack.

Bingo, it is a ridiculous thought - perhaps too strong a phrase - but not a wise course.

1. It is probably a Taiwan knockoff - worth $120.

2. You must not have looked much if you can't find a GC for $1200.

3. How about some pics - your link requires a google login - why?
I'm not about to provide my google login to see your pics.

Where are you located and what is your budget? There may be someone on here who can help find one.

That may be an AMF Grand Prix form the '90's. They were used on the Camel Pro Tour. I think those had an AMF logo on the head rail though. It appears to be solidly constructed, FWIW.

Check that, after a little online research, that table is not an AMF Grand Prix; most likely an overseas knockoff.

I'm not an expert, but...

It looks like a fake GC III (I have a real one). There is no Brunswick badge on the end rail, or the ball box. And, the frame looks all wrong. A real Gold Crown uses solid wood for the frame. That one looks like laminated plywood. Plus, there does not appear to be a center brace in the frame, running the length of the table.

This^^ We have a GC III, no plywood is used on the frame. And those little shims under
the slate?... haven't seen that on a GC. Makes you wonder how thick the slate is. Avoid. There's a lot of used GC's out there... for your $$$ get the real deal. There's a GC III on Panjo for $1700, with ball return and Simonis... you could probably work a deal on it.

Thank you all for your feedback. I would definitely keep looking online to find a good table. I'm a GC fan but I'm really thinking to get a Diamond Pro-Am.

I'm from Atlanta, please send PM if you guys know anyone selling one of these (Diamond Pro-Am).
