Opinions of cue holders wanted

I need to get a new cue holder. I have a "Gripper Cue Caddy" at present but it is too large and does not balance at all well. I was thinking about the Tiger Paw cue holder, becuase it folds up small and looks well built, but it is quite expensive.

Has anyone user the Tiger Paw, and if so do you recommend it. If not what do you like to use. (Other that just leaning your cues against you case etc.)

Thanks

Tiger Paw

I have one and I like it a lot; the folding feature makes it easy to carry. I recommend, though, that you use a small file to round off the edges of the leather inserts, which is easily done--otherwise I think the edges might mar a cue.

This is what I have been using, from Seyberts. I clips to the edge of tables or the arms of chairs. The only problem is, it does not fit in one of the pockets on my case. It does clip to the strap.

I think I have more cue holders than Carter has pills. I have tried most all, here's my opinion, in case you're interested:

Tiger Paw:
Pro: Nice looking, does work on straight edged as well as round tables.
Con: Is still too easy to shift. Adds ALOT of weight to cue case.

QClaw:
Pro: Will not harm your cue's finish, fits easily in case.
Con: Again, too easy to shift.

CueTender:
Pro: Absolutely classy, well made, and beautiful...often with choice of exotic woods to match cue. (I have 2, 1 cocobolo, 1 birdseye.) Will not harm cue finish. Does not shift, even when bumped.
Con: Expensive, but I feel worth it. Does not fit in cue case, however, does come with it's own tote pouch, which I hang off the D-ring on my case.

CueDude:
Pro: All soft rubber construction, collapsible (fits easily in almost any sized case pocket), will not harm cue finish, lightweight, inexpensive (cheapest on the market), will fit almost any thickness table.
Con: It might shift alittle, but needs to be really bumped, but still hangs on to cue...so not much of a con.;)

I have some others, but they're kinda scattered in drawers in my gameroom...given some away. Hate anything with clips. If I find them, I'll add to my reviews.

I have to say that my hands down favorites are my CueDude, which lives permanently inside my case, and I use ALOT, and my BE CueTender, while not as handy to tote, looks wonderful and really holds on to the cues, as does the CueDude. I am considering the McKune cue holder, as it will fit in a case pocket, but will behave as a clamped holder, or weighted, like the QClaw and TigerPaw...but without the TigerPaw weight, as it is made of machined aircraft aluminum. Kinda pricey again @ 30.00, but that does include shipping. www.mckunedesign.com

I have more players approach me about my CueDude, because it is just so darn handy and ingenious in design, and they are floored when I tell them they average about 10.00...I found mine for 6.95 at Muellers a few years ago, I think. As to my CueTender, my hubby bought me my cocobolo one from Muellers about 5 years ago for 35.00...they have since gone up to 40.00. I got my BE one off of eBay for 15.00, new...a great score! I am considering selling my cocobolo one, but am undecided, as these beauties are hard to come by, and thy're just so darn beautiful!

www.beadsandbilliards.com has all of the above cue holders available. They are the manufacturers of the QClaw and the PocketChalker. Real nice ladies to deal with. Someone on the net here recently was blowing out the CueTenders, as I think they are no longer being made, as the website no longer exists.

is the way to go, they are great, and I have never had a shifting problem with them at all. It is small, fits in the case good, made from rubber (so it won't scratch a jump butt handle) and I think I paid $13 for mine. Comes in Blue or Black. No folding up or undoing.

I quit using my QClaw because it always seemed to be shared with me by either my husband or a team member, and everytime they would place their cue in it next to mine, it got shifted to the point of almost knocking the cue out and onto the floor. Now it sits in my gameroom in a spot near the racking end of the table, so you have someplace to put your cue whilst racking.

I'm not knocking it, I just found that it was not the best solution for my needs. The QClaw is a nice, compact cue rest, but certainly not a cue holder.
