Pool born in the USA!

This was a promo done 2 years ago for one of the major events in English 8 Ball to try and get TV involved , it had a lot of interest from TV but it lacked a substantial sponsor :-(

I just wanted an opinion from across the pond, what do you think?
It's ok I have "thick skin"

I would loose the harmonica in the background music and replace it with some guitar riffs... make it younger and more hip.

Those 6ft English pool tables are brutal.... pockets are tight and round like on snooker tables, can't cheat the pockets and the small balls and napped cloth makes it harder to move the cue ball.

But I really don't like the rules of the game.

Appleton and Boyes have made the transition to your game quite quickly, having a background on our small table game! are there any American players that can mix it up on the small table?

I don't know about American players but a couple of years ago I managed to play some UK Pool - if that's the correct term - and skor is right, these tables ARE brutal. Not only the pockets, but somewhat the balls and the cloth is similar to the ones used for snooker. I never got into its rules and played it with 8-ball rules but it was fun that way either.

I thought it was a well produced promo. Loved those small pockets. :) Still don't really like small table pool though even with them.
Silly thing, it bugged me that the 8 ball was numbered. It should have been yellows, reds, and 1 unnumbered black or all numbered like American pool.
All and all a good promo and looks like a fun game to play for a while.

I play UK 8 ball for a junior county team. I like it a lot more than US 8ball, but 9ball is probably my favorite of the three.

The problem we have in uk with 9 ball/american pool is the tables are so big...not many places to put them.
The small table is huge in uk nearly every pub/club has them...

English Pool, thanks for posting that. Brought back some good memories of the game back home. Never played on 6ft tables much though, all the tables in our area & leagues were 7ft. I do recall one little country pub though in a summer league that had a 5ft table! Believe it or not we actually used to enjoy going out there, it was just a blast playing on this tiny table with no room around it, about 60% of the shots you'd just break down the cue & play with the shaft! LOL, those were the days.

It's funny, when they switched to reds & yellows in the UK I actually preferred them but now I'm back to solids (spots) & stripes here I can't imagine it any other way. Besides, it gives you more game options with numbered balls.
