Opposite eye dominance problem..Huge..........

No Clue lou,

Sounds like your going to have some fun but you have no clue about Perfect Aim. If you did you would understand that his book really has nothing tho do about what I teach. The only simularity is he talks about dominant eye.

I couldn't get past first base in showing you anything. You knew it all and it sounds like you still do. It must feel good to be so smart.

My father used an old saying and I still remember it loud and clear.

He said in order for a person to learn you had to be smart enough to listen and dumb enough to follow through, of maybe it was just the opposite. Dumb enough to listen and smart enough to follow through.

Your just too smart either way you say it.

Just keep shooting the way you do and have fun. That is what this game is all about , having fun. Have fun and don't worrt about all these players that are learning something that is helping their game so much and so quickly.

This is something you don't ever have to worry about.

You have convinced me that you really do believe what you say. This will protect you from learning alot of things.

What happens when you find out how really well it works?

Oh oh.............

Have a great day geno...........

Yeah. Well. My Dad had a saying too:

Good teachers cost a lot. But bad teachers end up costing you a lot more.

Have a nice day :-)

Seeing is believing. I pretty comfident that when we meet and really spend some time with it you will see what I'm talking about.

We could actually do it over the phone as I do with so many other players here on AZ.

But it would be alot better in person.

Looking forward to the showdown at the O. K. Poolroom wherever it may be.

I think that day that a little magic will happen. And this is not optimism on my part or cockyness but experience. Experience from the hundreds of lessons I've given with Perfect Aim and all the great results.

Seeing first time is believing.

Have a great day Lou.........

You are really way too ate up with this. What you don't get is that I am on my own path and what you're selling is anathema to me. Here, let me give you another quote (and yeah, I know, we could exchange these forever):

"Nothing that is worth knowing can be taught." Oscar Wilde.

I'm guessing you can't fathom the true meaning of that, but, whatahey, it was worth a shot.

I think it is very disrespectful to the PAID sponsors of AZ Billiards when anyone markets there shit...ooppps stuff on here for free.

You are just like the CTE'rs in that you believe that no one can play at a high level unless you go the down the same path as you. Thats bullshit.

Explain what happens when you have to make a shot and you can not get your head over your cue.

I can post pic of those types of shots. What then?

Your are starting to sound like the Sham Wow guy of Aiming.

Louie,

Your Dad should have taught you that "you can't make yourself taller by trying to cut off the legs of others." Your constant negative comments show some inferiority complex with which you really, really need help. There is no way that you can be a happy person when all you ever do is think negative. Get help. Trust me on this, you need some serious help!

Project much? Oh yeah, that's right, you seem to...

Geno has not said that in order to play at a high level a player MUST learn his system. You are putting word's in his mouth-er, thread.

He offers to help, and many have taken him up on it. With success, apparently. I suppose all those folks that post in these threads, thanking him for his help, are lying shceming huckster enablers?

Why does that frustrate you so much?

Duckie,

i ve had just some mails with Geno- and just know him from reading here on AZ. And from all the postings i know from him, i m a bit surprised how aggressive you re getting towards him.
I m definitley sure, that Geno would never say, that his *way of aiming* is the holy gral. In some points i also don t agree with him (about ONE dominant eye for example), but he doesn t tell bull-shit at all. It all makes sense for sure. Furthermore you should think about, that he s trying to help via internet. A 1vs1 session at a table is always more helpful,bc then you can adjust things immediatley. written words via internet can cause problems. But to say, that he s selling bs and just want to sell h is product here......that s just really bs.

I don't think Duckie is far from the mark. I mean, just look at Geno's last post to me (though there are many more examples):

You can slice it any way you want, but those are the words of a one true path zealot as far as I'm concerned.

I also think Duckie is on the mark with his other point -- if you look at Geno's posting history he is absolutely relentless in his hype on the Main Forum.

Ratta, take a look at how he presents -- he says everything but the words Holy Grail. But his implication is that it is. I think to look at it any other way is disingenious.

I guess it's just me. I read his posts, and I see someone who is willing to help, and perhaps along the way he'll sell a few DVDs. I don't see a problem with that.

Geno does post rather prolifically. Somehow, his posts don't rub me the wrong way as the extremely regular posts of folks who would tear things down, and belittle others. Often, it seems, for the fun of it.

Geno, on the other hand, is always pleasant in his posts.

Perhaps that is why his posts don't offend me, and apparently others (like Ingo). I suppose the constant negativity offered here by various folks just begins to wear me down, and it is a breath of fresh air to see a positive post, from someone who is willing to help.

Offering his phone number and inviting calls. No charge. Huckster? Buyer beware, and since he isn't charging for the call, why is that a probelm?

I "get" why you can become fed up with some of the claims (in the past, certainly) from the CTE folks. I "get" the discussion of exact versus feel. While the level of the debate disappoints me, I understand where you are coming from. But this, Geno and Perfect Aim? I don't get it at all.

Of course, there are many things I don't "get", and that will likely never change. Working with limited resources here, ya know. :D

I see Gene's posts as someone who is ENTHUSIASTIC.

I see Gene's posts as someone who has been there and done that.

I see Gene's posts as his own unique perspectives about pool.

I have personally reflected (and improved) upon my own method of playing pool based upon Gene's GENEROUS posts that he shares here on the forum.

PERSONALLY, I think Gene is one of AZ Billiards most valuable members.

Like others have said, even when he is hunted and pecked upon by the cannibals in this forum, he seldom returns a post in kind. His posts are almost always a pleasure to read and learn from.

Just my opinion.......

I did an experiment with this one day.......

I cannot change my dominant eye at will, but it will change on me. I havn't exactly found a rhyme or reason, but it will change. I'll go from dead stroke to.. ehhh... what happened! After slamming 2 or 3 balls dead into the rail, I switch to my other eye.

I do not know the cause, I'm guessing my eye gets tired??? Seems when I play early in the day, my right eye starts off dominant and will switch mid day. Like when I play in an all day tournament, I notice. Now that I understand the problem, I'm quick to fix it.

Hi there Cleary,

It sounds like you have found a way to force your dominant eye to get back to doing what it does best. See the shot correctly when it is kept in the dominant position.

One night before our Wed night handlcap tournament i decided to see if I could move my head over a little and shoot using my right eye as the dominant eye. To my surprise I was fairly successful shooting alot of shots. I had a little trouble on some and drove them into the rail. I decided to keep it up for about 1 hour. I seemed to get a little more comfortable with it.

I found it hard to keep from switching back to my left eye by accident so I fought even harder to force my right eye to be in the dominant position.

After the hour I decided that this was not the best thing for my pool game. My eyes were all over the place and it started to get really hard to keep my eyes righty.

Now the tourny started and I lost my first 2 matches and out. I tried to shoot a little more after my terrible showing in the tourny. I was having alot of trouble still.

I became very frustrated. I was having alot of trouble seeing the shots overall.

I came to the assumption with my little experiment that sometimes when we kind of lose it during a night and start playing kind of bad might be because we accidently made the non dominant eye work as the dominant eye on to many shots . The more this happens the worse it gets to keep the dominant eye where it needs to be to see the shot as good as possible.

Many players don't know how to switch their eyes as you found you could do. My recommendation is to keep the dominant eye in the right position or it might sabatage other shots by confusing a persons natural ability to see all shots correctly because of bad eye placement.

You need to see the shot as good as you possibly can. This game is hard enough without throwing in a wrench like trying to switch the dominant eye back and forth.

This is the main problem with many players especially at the amateur ranks. They accidently switch the eyes back and forth being dominant and not only miss a shot here and there but make it harder to get back to the most correct position because it starts looking good either way.

But only one way is the most corrct way for us to see the shot as good as possible.

I hope I explained this clearly. Many players might have trouble understanding this but I'm sure you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

have a great day. great post geno.............

Taking calls again Sunday 1:00 to 6:00........

Hi there everyone,

I try to share things from time to time with my fellow AZer's.

During my teachings I learn new things all the time.

Something I recently learned I'm adding to my new Perfect Aim video I want to share. It really punches holes in the old theory that you just get in the preshot position and just see it the best you can.

If you are opposite eye dominant you have big trouble the natural start of the aiming process called the preshot..

For those of you that don't know, opposite eye dominance is when you are right handed and left eye dominant of left handed right eye dominant.

Players that are right eye dominant, right handed or left eye dominant, left handed don't seem to have this visual trouble that I am going to explain.

Most players that are left eye dominant but right handed aim guns and other things with their right eye because they are right handed. If they are left handed, right eye dominant the same things apply. I'm one of these opposite eyed people.

In fact many of these players even flunk the normal eye dominance tests because they use the right eye so much with these other things that they just over ride the dominant vision tests.

In fact about 50% of these players flunk the normal pointing or looking through circles eye dominance tests.

If you are one of these opposite eye dominant players and do a preshot routine you are probably in the wrong position in your preshot routine right from the start.

Almost every player that I am teaching Perfect Aim to that is opposite eye dominant starts out in the preshot with the non dominant eye in the dominant position. On their way down they switch to their dominant eye assuming it's dominant position naturally. Unfortuanately naturally doesn't get you to the right spot when your starting point is kind of screwed up from the beginning.

Your stance is a little off right from the start and so is stroke. This can make your starting point in your preshot off by as much as 1" to 3 or 4 inches.

So much for naturally being in the right position.

You need the same picture in the preshot that you will see when you get down to address the ball. So you need the dominant eye in the correct position in the preshot and in the actual shooting position also.

Here's the big problem. In the preshot position the shot looks just as correct whether your looking right eyed or left eyed. On the way down you will naturally sway to the dominant eye otherwise the shot will look real bad.

If there is anyone that wants to understand exactly how this works, give me a call. I will help you see what I'm talking about. 715=563=8712.

All I ask for the free advice is you reply to this thread after the call to tell your results and findings to other Azer's.

This will encourage other to try and figure this out for themselves.

This all by itself is causing alot of players to miss an awful lot of shots.

For anyone that doesn't think it makes any difference to know your dominant eye better think again and try to figure out what I'm talking about.

Anyone that calls, make sure you are at a pool table. It will only take about 5 minutes to help you see this correctly.

Have a great day geno.......

Hi there and sorry for having a few AZer's wait.

I played in the tournament at Two Stooges Sat. It only lasted one day. There were 4 different divisions so it got done by 11:00.

I'm back in business on the phone again so give me a ring. 715-563-8712

This is free and it could be a game changing phone call for YOU:thumbup2:

I've also been sharing a little Perfect Aim advice to everyone that has called. I feel I almost have to so players can see how this all fits together.

It's all part of the puzzle to aim as Perfect as possible............

Talk to you soon. Geno........... 715-563-8712

Have a great day geno.......

Every player that I have worked with in the past month or so that is opposite eye dominant was looking at the shot in the preshot with the non-dominant eye in the dominant position.

What does this mean?

It means that if your left eye dominant, right handed and you are in the preshot your body and stroke are starting out in the wrong place.

You have one picture of the shot in the preshot and on the way down are naturally switching to the dominant eye so now you have a different picture.

You need the same look in both positions to really zero the aim in.

Why does this happen?

Your arm and cue are over on your right side. So it is natural to be looking with your right eye up above especially when you realize that either eye looks the same in the preshot. And in the preshot it looks just as good no matter which eye is in the dominant position.

Once you go down on the shot your eyes will switch to having your dominant eye in the dominant but the problem is by switching on the way down the stance and stroke are not in the most perfect position.

Plus it doesn't get there all the time. Especially when you are cutting the ball to the way of your non dominant eye.

This conclusively,I have found is one of the main reasons it can be a disadvantage being opposite eye dominant if a player doesn't know how to correct this natural problem.

I've taken about 130 calls over the past 30 days and have used the info to absolutely conclude so far that this is happening in pretty much 100% of the players so far that are opposite eye dominant.

I'm going to do this for FREE over the phone until April 19th. After this date my time will be very limited.

I want to encourage any AZers that want to improve their aiming skill more than they ever could imagine to call and let me help them understand this for themselves.

This will help you see why there are some shots that just don't look right once you get down. You can see it Perfectly in the preshot but once you get down you question the aim.

If the phone is busy leave a message and I will call you as soon as I can.

Call me at 715-563-8712. looking forward to talking to everyone. Geno.........

I'm a pool player and have pool player hours. Feel free to call right up until midnight. Any night..........:D

I wonder how many top players will take your phone call tonight FOR FREE? So what if Gene wants you to take a lesson if he is in your town. Besides the phone call not costing you a penny, you have nothing to lose and you can always say no to the in-person lesson but I wouldn't pass up that opportunity either.

Gene is probably AZB BEST PLAYER who will try to help you improve your pool game. The rest of the top players on this forum are good guys but who amongst them will take ALL PHONE CALLS for free?

Don't forget to ask Gene for his favorite pool tip on playing on a bar table. You can get that one for free just for asking.

He is a MONSTER on the bar table and that I guarantee!
