for the update Lamar ... Two very strong players into the mix.

Hey Scott,
There were many strong players at this IPT Qualifier.
It's very hard for me believe the turn out the IPT Qualifiers are getting.

I WISH THE "IPT TOUR" THE BEST,
Lamar

Two more worldbeaters. What else is new?

Dennis Orcollo has gone undefeated in the elimination roud of the WPC and is known to be successful gambling against Alex Pagulayan.

Oliver Ortmann is one of the few to have won the world championship in both nine ball and straight pool. If my memory serves, he has also played on a winning Mosconi Cup team, and as recently as 2004, he was the #1 ranked player on the Eurotour.

As they say on the PGA Tour, these guys are good!

I am very happy to have learned that Oliver made the IPT. He is a fantastic player and very derserving IMO. Honestly I do not know anything about Dennis Orcullo but he must be good. lol

I've always admired Ortmann's game and his presence at the table. I'm certainly happy he'll be playing in the States more often. Maybe I'll be able to see him play live one day. BTW, you want a straight pool match, get Rempe vs. Ortmann from Accu-stats. You won't be disappointed.

Go Olli GO

Congratulations to Oliver Ortmann !!!

Great that Olli made the IPT too, he is a hell of a player and his style of play sure will entertain the crowd. Look out guys the Germans are coming (some national pride is allowed ) .

Ortmann is a very experienced player and despite changing his cueing style, stance and rhythm a few years ago, he's still solid and accurate and his presence at the table makes his opponents shrink. I played against Oliver last spring at the EPC and we played 8-ball, I missed 1 ball and he didn't miss any balls and I lost 8-4, the match took less than a total of 10 innings combined. Despite losing, I enjoyed every minute of the match, Oliver is always a class act and I have never seen him misbehaving or anything. I'm happy Ollie is through to the IPT Tour, a well-deserved spot for him. Congrats to Orcollo as well !

Not only Alex but Dennis is known to having been successful gambling
with Efren

There was lots of talk about Dennis and rightfully so. Interestingly before the event there was just as much talk. People, who would know, were
telling Efrens comments about Dennis.
"The Man" gave Orcullo a full recommendation.

From a first hand experience I thought he was the total player. I saw him play a match in which he did not miss a ball or a safety and win 10-1 and
I saw him make a few mistakes. Thats to me expected IMO
What impressed me the most is just how in line he stayed. He always found the natural way around and when needed was able to pinpoint
position. When out of line he quickly was able to recover.
Orcullo is a name that will be around for a while IMO.

Parica, Reyes, Luat, Andam, "little Alex", Kiamco, Gallego, Lining and now Orcullo. Thats a tough lineup and I am sure there are more.

The next couple years will be very exciting in the pool world!

I agree with Mikko, Oliver deserves a spot on the Tour and IPT needs players like him. I played him in one of my first international tournaments, I was leading 5-2, then I felt the pressure, missed a couple of shots, and he took control of the table and didn't miss anymore. I was the rookie, and after the match the World Champion payed me a drink and gave me some good advice for my game. Such a class act...

You will be shot at dawn... The offense - You have been found guilty of leaving Bustamante off the list ;)

I met Dennis about a year and a half ago in Taiwan at the WPC. He and I played. I got drilled. I loved the way he played and I asked him why I had not heard of him before (being is SoCal, you usually get the line on the Phillipine players first:D ). He said, he has never been able to get away from Asia due to expenses and such (no Puyat support for him). I then asked well about how do you play with Busty and Parica, he says we play about the same. Then I asked about how many guys play your speed in the Phillipines, he says "hmmm, about 20"!!!

 Close the border!!! (JK)

Here a little list of Phillipine Giants:

Lee VanCorteza, Warren Kiamco, Leonardo Andam, Rodolpho Luat, Dennis Orcullo, Antonio Gabica, Antonio Lining, Marlon Manalo, Efren Reyes, Ronnie Alcano, Santos Sambajon, Jose Parica, Alex Pagulyan and Ramil Gallego. Trust me, there's more.

Has he changed to a more deliberate rythm and less fluid stroke, Mikko?

He had a very characteristic stroke, closer to Philipino players than American players. He also regularly addressed the cueball low, much like Parica and other Philipino players.

BTW, keep hanging tough with the big guys!

Congratulations to both players, I suspect we will be hearing from them alot on the IPT;) I believe I saw on the forum that when Ortmann defeated Paez 10-0 Paez only got one inning the entire match? If this is true that is almost unbelieveable.
