Here is a term I've not heard before it may be a Phillipine expression, in the article where Bust beat Orcullo this term was used. Does it mean the pressure affected him, or was it he was not able to comfortably hit thru his shots, or was it something else, could anyone clarify this "locked arm". Hummmmmmmmm

locked arm

yes it could've been the pressure or maybe they ment he did'nt look comfortable like he can't get anything going

As I went and did a few chores, I thought about how much he has been competing and he may need a rest before Manila. Like Tiger Woods, he's aware when he's played too much and needs rest and time to recharge. With all the travel and opportunity that he's seen out there recently he needs a break, sometimes when your young and playing well its hard to pass up what's out there, that may be his best move.

I've also heard it called, "choking".

I've never head the word choking and locked arm used in the same context, does sound comparable, where do you first hear 'lock arm'? East/West coast, Europe??

a friend of mine is a big darts fan, and apparently they have a term called 'dart-itis', which is where they just can't release the dart. same thing as pool really.

at the end of the day the phrase "locked arm" is just being used as an alternative to choking through pressure.

Sometimes I get what I call "locked arm". The muscles in my stroking arm tighten up and can't seem to relax. Even as I continue playing, instead of getting warmed up, my stroke gets worse and worse. I attribute this to not stretching after exercising, and also if I don't eat right, my muscles stay tight.
