CUE SOLD

I am selling this for an older gentleman from my poolhall. He needs some cash for person reasons and asked me if I could put this on the internet for him.

My camera died last night, i only could get one pic. I will get more detailed picture tonight and update.

He said it is an original Southwest made by Mr. Franklin before he passed away.
He is looking to get $1800 for it.

Shoot me and email and i will get you intouch with the owner if you would like to talk to him. There will be more pics tomorrow though

It may be wise to post the # of shafts, shaft size, total cue weight, # of points, and condition of cue. You can't expect many responses asking anything but those questions right now.

Most people like to have a letter of authentication from SW with older unmarked SW's also. I have several and would not buy one without Laurie signing something saying it was Jerry's work (even if I'm not doubting it's a real SW).

Best Wishes in the sale.

It has two shafts
it is unmarked

The cue can be authenticated by his wife.

you will have to email me your phone number and i will pass it along to the owner so you can get some more info.

Sorry for such little info, but thats all he gave me
thank you

If it is a SW....which I don't see any reason for him to lie, than this is a steal for someone looking to get a SW. This cue shouldn't last too long at all. IT is quite beautiful as well.

yeah another guy said it should be worth like 2800 or so. but the owner needs money

I sent a e-mail saying if the shafts were near 13mm I'd take the cue, you e-mailed me back saying you'd check the shaft width and let me know in the morning, now it says the cue is sold? WTF?

Right

He told me I would have first shot because I PM him first.WTF. I hear ya Phil. I understand though. A bunch of people talk and one guy says hears the money. Money talks and the rest is bla bla bla bla!! Thanx Aaron

I made a cash offer last night. He said "you're the only offer, looks good, I'll let you know in the morning". Now, I read "it's sold".
WTF?

i had a higher cash offer and was going in order. i wrote a list of 14 people and there offers in order of recieved and showed the owner last night and he said for me to take the offer that i did... just following orders.

Probably wont be selling any more cues for anyone else like this any more, Just myown cues. Kinda makes me look like a bad guy to every one that didnt get it. I probably would have handled it different but he said he want the money now.

I will keep this post updated if something were to fall through.

Just a thought, maybe you should have emailed them back saying you got a offer for this much and give them the option to offer more if they wanted to. If not then the cue was sold. That way you don't offend any one and you get more money for the seller.

Nonsense!!

No, Your fine, Business is business and you did what your friend wanted. No big deal. Thanx for answering my PM timely. Don't let us cry babys get to you. Do be careful selling for friends, It has taught me a lesson. Whatever you do hold the money until your buyer is happy with the cue so you don't get trapped like I did. Thanx Aaron 815-243-1101

Thats what i would have done if it were my own cue, i would make my own decision on the price and obviously try to get more.

But the guy who owns the cue said just do this one. He didnt care, just wants it sold..now

So normaly i would have handled it better but its kinda hard when the guy wants the money "Now".

Are there any other treasures in his closet/trunk?

I agree with Aaron on this one. You did what the seller wanted you to. It was his cue, not yours, and definitely not any buyers unless you committed to one of them and then backed out of the deal. Don't let any negative post get you down. I have done the same in the past for a buddy. Posted a Richard Black for sale by him, and when someone offered him the price he was asking, he changed his mind and kept the cue. I personally lost some credibility over it. Won'e ever do that again.

Well either way..

If something happens and the cue is still for sale, I will let you guys know.

Thanks

STEVE
