I have worked on some cues over the years, but I have never screwed with an Original by Palmer butt sleeve before.

I have a Model E which has a very heavy butt. Can I remove/change the bolt to lighten it?

I know I would need to tape up the rings, etc, I just do not know how they are constructed internally, and what bolt, etc, I could change the weight with, if any.

Other than the rings, is the weightbolt integral to the construction of the cue, or is it in a threaded dowel, etc, similar to newer cues?

3/8x16 threads into the dowel
