original ferrule material ?

Howdy All;

Not sure if this is or isn't original furruel material I have on an early/mid 70's
Joss West (J with sideways W), cue.
How to determine, any tests to find if it is/isn't the "I" word.

First, a picture would be in order. Second....if you think the "I" word, use a black light and see if it glows....black light on white verses the "I" word....you will see the difference

Thanks, have one just need to dig it out. Thanks.
Found the light, JW furruel appears clean & smooth while "other"
ferrules show scratches and imbedded chalk while appearing clean
when no black light is on.
Your verdict????

Went with a new one of those Project Tomahawk ferrules.
I can see the difference. Tomahawk is much brighter then the JW's
