Original Predator Z shaft

Besides ferrule material and length, the z2 was made in China and the z in North America

S Tuned - some folks like the Z2, but don't like the conical euro taper. Seyberts will take that shaft and make the conical taper into a pro taper then apply a little "s tuned" decal.
I guess because it comes from Seyberts, they call it 'S Tuned', unless someone named Sam, or Steve, Sol, or Sara, or..... does it.
The used ones I have purchased (never got a new one), I paid from $75 to $160, all 5/16 X 14, all wide black ring or black with silver.

:scratchhead:

Got me thinking...I guess they need the decal on there so they can honor the warranty.

Funny thing----last month I needed to send back a Predator shaft because of delaminating.

I used to send them to Florida to be replaced, but now you need to send them to Seyberts.

I was really surprised.

I borrowed an original Z shaft and was wondering what the difference is between it and the Z2? Also, how much should I expect to pay for a Z in good condition? Thanks in advance.

I have played with 1st and 2nd gen Preds (Z and 314) and in my opinion there isn't enough of a difference to worry about it. Really....for me.....pretty much no difference whatsoever.
I know a lot of guys will say 1st gen hits better but honestly I can't say it does. I guess I'm not so sensitive that I can feel this supposed difference they're talking about.
If you like LD's you can't go wrong with either (1st or 2nd).
I'm not an LD guy but the Predator shafts that I have have never let me down, no probs with either. They are very sturdy and have, to me, a good feel, of course as far as LDs go....
The tip is going to make faaaaaaaar greater difference than 1st and 2nd gen Pred shafts do.

Call Predator and tell them you'd like to have the cue refinished or something like that they'll have you send it to Peschaur (Peshaeur?, Pee-shower? Well, I'm sure you get the meaning)

That's a honest opinion. That makes up my mind. I'm going with made in the USA
version however, on my Schon Pool Cue.
